Carbon is a common agricultural material in China, and there are many kinds of charcoal. Friends engaged in the carbon industry also know that in the carbon market, the quality requirements for carbon are different under different uses, even if they are of the same use and in different regions. The requirements for carbon are also different. So what are the types and uses of charcoal?

1. Charcoal

Charcoal is a kind of porous substance, and the surface area of porous material must be very large. The larger the surface area of a substance, the more molecules it absorbs to other substances, and the stronger the adsorption. If the preparation of charcoal in the continuous introduction of high-temperature steam, remove the oil attached to the surface of charcoal, so that the numerous internal pipes unobstructed, then the surface area of charcoal will be larger. Charcoal processed in this way is called activated carbon. Obviously, activated carbon has stronger adsorption than charcoal.

2. Coke

Bituminous coal is heated to 950-1050 ℃ under the condition of air isolation, and then coke is made through the stages of drying, pyrolysis, melting, bonding, curing and shrinkage. This process is called high temperature coking (high temperature distillation). The coke obtained from high temperature coking is used in blast furnace smelting, casting and gasification. The recovered and purified coke oven gas produced in the coking process is not only a fuel with high calorific value, but also an important industrial raw material for organic synthesis.

3. Activated carbon

Activated carbon is a very excellent adsorbent, which uses charcoal, bamboo charcoal, all kinds of fruit shells and high-quality coal as raw materials. the raw materials are processed and manufactured by physical and chemical methods, such as crushing, sieving, catalyst activation, rinsing, drying and screening. It has the dual characteristics of physical adsorption and chemical adsorption, and can selectively adsorb all kinds of substances in gas phase and liquid phase, in order to achieve the purpose of decolorization and purification (sucrose decolorization), disinfection and deodorization, decontamination and purification. Cauterization before use can improve its adsorption effect, and the principle is that cauterization can burn out the oil or other substances attached to its internal pipe and increase its surface area. The inspection standard can be in accordance with the Chinese national standard GB, or in accordance with other national standards, such as American ASTM, Japanese JIS, German DIN standard, etc.

4. Carbon black

Carbon black is an amorphous carbon. Light, loose and extremely fine black powder with a very large surface area, ranging from 10-3000m2/g, is the product of organic matter (natural gas, heavy oil, fuel oil, etc.) obtained by incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition under the condition of insufficient air. The specific gravity of 1.8-2.1 is called "gas black" made of natural gas, "lamp black" made of oil, and "acetylene black" made of acetylene. In addition, there are "slot black" and "furnace black". According to the properties of carbon black, there are "reinforced carbon black", "conductive carbon black", "wear-resistant carbon black" and so on. Can be used as a black dye, used in the manufacture of Chinese ink, ink, paint, etc., but also used as a reinforcing agent for rubber, improve rubber wear resistance, tear resistance, etc., fill in tires, rubber soles.

The above is the introduction of the types of charcoal, charcoal has many uses, to a certain extent, it is of great help to us. Is there anything else you want to know about the types of charcoal introduced by the editor above?
