Last Updated: 2024/09/19, Wasp, scientific name wasp, also known as wasp or wasp. Large, long and toxic, once people are stung by stingers, they are allergic or severe, and they can lead to death. When you hear the name, you avoid it, not to mention breeding. But a bee resident in Yunnan depends on it.

Hornet, scientific name "wasp", also known as "grasshopper" or "wasp". The body is big and the length is poisonous. Once a person is stung by a poisonous sting, it will be allergic to light or death in serious cases. Everyone will avoid it when they hear the name, let alone breed it. However, a bee in Yunnan has achieved millions of wealth by relying on it. I think everyone would like to know how this harmful wasp brings huge economic benefits to farmers.

Wasp is a kind of insect which distributes widely, has many kinds and flies quickly. Hymenoptera is a wasp family, female bees have a powerful long needle, in the face of attack or unfriendly interference, will attack in groups, can cause allergic reactions and toxic reactions, serious cases can lead to death. An insect that sounds so horrible but brings high economic income must have its economic and use value.

First of all, food value.

Wasp pupa is a kind of edible insect rich in protein and low in fat. It is developed by sucking royal jelly, honey and pollen. It has high nutritional value and is a very high-grade natural nutritional food. And fried wasp larvae have nourishing and strong effect, weak body, waist weakness, impotence and spermatorrhea patients have a certain effect. Healthy people eat it to strengthen the body and reduce disease.

Second, medicinal value.

Wasp adults, larvae and hives can be used in traditional Chinese medicine. Or internal, or external, can cure poisonous insect sting bite, poison furuncle and other diseases.

Wasps taste sweet and pungent, warm in nature, indicated for rheumatism pain. Honeycomb can be used as Chinese herbal medicine, has pain relief, anthelmintic, detumescence detoxification effect, mainly for epilepsy, wind paralysis, breast carbuncle, toothache, stubborn ringworm, cancer and so on. Hu Feng wine has Qufeng dehumidification, acute, chronic rheumatism pain, rheumatoid arthritis. Wasp venom can treat arthritis, and has high medicinal value, which is of great significance to the development and production of new medical products. There are more than 20 kinds of wasp venom sold on the international market, and its price is quite expensive. Bee therapy is also effective.

Furthermore, agricultural production value

In Henan, Shanxi, Yunnan and other provinces of China, the methods of artificial assistance in overwintering and artificial assistance in nest establishment and migration have been adopted to control cotton pests with wasps, which are very effective and relatively economical. After autumn, the female bees are caught and put into cages, the cages are placed in sheltered places, and the female bees are allowed to gather together. In the following spring, the female bees are put into fields and allowed to nest naturally around the fields. Food, water, and building materials can also be provided in large hives, allowing them to build nests in the hives. When necessary, move the nest to the field, 3~5 nests per mu, more than 100 bees, that is, can basically control the harm of lepidopteran pests. Because wasps have homing habits, they are effective for a long time. It has a wide range of feeding habits and can control a variety of agricultural and forestry pests.

Therefore, Huang Guozhong, a bee resident in Baoshan, Yunnan Province, saw the huge economic benefits of wasps and systematically and scientifically raised wasps. According to Huang Guozhong, a bee resident, there are three levels: Queen bee (female bee, with poison needle) specializes in giving birth to children, male bee (without poison needle) does not sting people, and female bee mating after completing the mission naturally dies, working bee (with poison needle) undertakes the important tasks of nesting, foraging and home care, most of the working bees can live until the arrival of winter every year before natural death, bees difficult to resist the cold in winter. Except for a few bee pupae, most of them are consumed as delicious food on the tip of the tongue. A pack (nest) of wasps per nest annual output value of 1800 yuan, wasps up to 2700 yuan, bee venom (bee needle secretion) known as "biological gold" 900 yuan per gram, is the production of cancer, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and other important raw materials. In 2012, Huang Guozhong raised the largest nest of wasps weighing 160.2 catties, selling for 170 yuan per catty and earning more than 27,200 yuan.

Wasp farming requires attention to the following points:

1. Bee cages. Wooden or made of iron gauze, the volume is about 0.03~0.04 cubic meters, so that it has sufficient room for movement.

2. Beehive. The size depends on the number of hives harvested. Large glass greenhouses, large factories or special bee breeding sheds can be used. Bee shed with iron, wood as a support, iron window screen as a purse, generally in the area of 100 square meters, 2m high, planting corn, soybeans, cotton and other crops easy to access insects to survive, one side of the shed left a screen door. Shed to hang with honey water, fruit, melon peel and other feed small plate, so that bees can feed and free activities after being placed.

3. Beehive. Made of wood, side length 15~20cm, upper and lower with thin wood made of cover and bottom. The cover is provided with a hook, a screen window is hung on all sides, and a valve is reserved on one side.

Feed fruit, such as ripe apples, peaches, etc.; moisture more vegetables; molasses; melon peel, etc.

The key problem of breeding wasps is to protect female wasps safely through winter and guide them to nest early and often in spring.

4. There are many natural enemies of wasps, including insects, spiders, birds and mice, as well as diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms.
