In recent years, the news of being bitten by ticks is not uncommon, so what on earth is a tick? How to kill the tick larvae at home, dogs and cattle? What medicine can be used to eliminate it? Ticks (p í), also known as ticks, soft-shelled turtles eat, commonly known as dog soft-shelled turtles, grass seeds, cattle lice, grass ticks, dog beans, cattle turtle. In Sichuan dialect, it is called coercion (pronunciation shà) and so on. Dormant on the grass and plants in the shallow mountains and hills, or lodging among the skins of animals such as livestock. When not sucking blood, the small ones are the size of shrunken mung beans, and some are as thin as rice grains; after sucking enough blood, there are full soybeans, and the big ones can reach the size of the fingernails. Anaplasmosis caused by tick bites is an infectious disease, and people are generally susceptible to the disease. medical staff or their chaperones who have close contact with critically ill patients and come into direct contact with body fluids such as the blood of patients may also be infected if they do not pay attention to protection.

I. classification of ticks

1. According to morphological characteristics

1) Ixodes

The worm body is oval, the abdomen and back is flat when not sucking blood, the back is slightly raised, and the adult body is 2-10mm long; after being full of blood, it is dilated like adzuki bean or castor seed, and the large one can be as long as 30mm.

2) soft ticks

The jaw body is on the ventral side of the body, not visible from the back, and there is no pore area on the back of the jaw base. There is no shield plate on the back of the body, and the body surface is mostly granular verruca, or with wrinkles or discoid depressions.

2. Main types

The main results are as follows: 1) the scutellum of Ixodes paniculatus (Ixodes persulcatus) is brown, the whisker limb is slender cylindrical, and the auricular process of the jaw base is obtusely toothed.

2) the scutellum of Dermacentor nuttalli has enamel-like spots, eyes and marginal piles; the whiskers are wide and short, the base of the jaw is rectangular, and the dorsal distance of the foot Ⅰ is short and round.

3) the scutellum of Hyalomma asiaticum kozlovi is reddish brown, with eyes and edge piles, the whiskers' limbs are long cylindrical, the second segment is significantly elongated, the feet are yellowish, there are obvious light rings at each joint, and the grooves of the neck of males are obviously in the shape of deep grooves, and the valve plates are pipe-shaped.

4) the surface of the mastoid tick (Ornithodoros papillipes) is granular, and the intersection of the retroanal transverse sulcus and the retroanal sulcus is almost at a right angle.

How to prevent tick bites?

1. To eliminate ticks on the body surface of livestock and barns, insecticides such as trichlorfon and dichlorvos can be sprayed. The houses should be ventilated and dry, fill the cracks in the walls, seal the caves, and clean the barns and poultry houses or spray them with medicine to eliminate the breeding places of ticks.

2. To strengthen personal protection, go into forest areas or work in the field, wear long-sleeved clothes, fasten belts, cuffs and trouser legs, tie towels on the neck, apply ointment on the skin surface to prevent tick bites, take a bath and change clothes when you come back from going out, and prevent ticks from being brought home.

In addition, it is summer, and it is a good season for people to travel. Here, I would like to remind you that when you go to the wild, in addition to the above two points, do not go to scenic spots that have not yet been developed, and try not to go to forest fields with dense grass. So we can avoid tick bites.

Third, what kind of medicine is used to kill ticks?

After a certain agent has been used for a long time, it will cause ticks to develop drug resistance, and the agent should be mixed or used in turn.

There are two main ways to kill ticks on animals, one is to catch them directly, and the other is to kill them with chemical drugs. When you find a tick, you should pull it out and concentrate on killing it. When pulling out, the tick should be perpendicular to the skin, and then pulled up to prevent the tick false head from breaking in the skin, causing inflammation. However, this method can only be done on the premise of a small number of livestock and sufficient manpower.

Chemical drugs are commonly used to kill ticks, such as pyrethroid insecticides, organophosphorus insecticides, amidine insecticides and so on. According to the season and application object, spray, medicine bath and other methods can be selected. It is important to note, however, that these agents can cause ticks to develop drug resistance after long-term use, and should be mixed or used in turn.

In recent years, genetic control and biological control have been used to kill ticks. The former uses radiation or chemical sterile agents to make male ticks lose their reproductive ability and attenuates the population capacity of ticks, while the latter uses the natural enemies of ticks to kill ticks. It has been found that some parasitoids of the family Hymenoptera can lay eggs in some ticks and then escape from the ticks after adults, and the ticks die soon after parasitism. There are also insects of the family Pentatomidae, which can also cause tick death.
