Fattening refers to the breeding process of making livestock (usually meat livestock) obese or plump. After all, only fat cattle can be sold at a good price. Here are the fattening methods for calves, adult cattle and adult cattle. The majority of cattle farmers have to look carefully!

Calf fattening:

The purpose is to produce veal from cattle, which is light red, delicious and juicy, and the surface of the carcass is evenly covered with a layer of white fat, called "white meat". Its protein is 27.2% higher than ordinary beef, and the fat is 19-24 times lower. The human body needs all kinds of amino acids, so it is an ideal high-grade beef. Western countries with high consumption levels all have this consumption habit. The calf fattening method is that the selected calf's birth weight is not less than 35kg, healthy and disease-free, and requires rapid growth in the early stage. The specific measures are as follows: newborn calves must eat colostrum 3 days before the age of 4 weeks, breast-feed with the cows before 4 weeks of age, teach them to pick forage at the age of 5 weeks, and tie them to exercise. The daily feeding amount of 10-week-old calves is 8% of their body weight, and high quality hay or grass allows them to eat freely. With concentrate (42% of corn, 25% of wheat bran, 15% of bean cake, 15% of dried beet dregs, 0.3% of calcium phosphate, 0.2% of salt, 2.5% of fish meal) gradually increase the amount of feed. The fattening end age is 6-8 months (12 months at most), the body weight is 300-350 kg, and the slaughtering rate can reach 60%.

Fattening cattle:

Breeding cattle refers to the cattle aged from 6 months to 2 years old, which is in a period of vigorous growth, rapid fattening and weight gain and high feed return rate. One is the intensity fattening of young cattle, that is, the calves are fattened immediately after weaning and fed with high nutrition to keep their daily gain above 1.2 kg. When they are one year old, they end fattening, and the live weight can reach 400 kg. This method must use large beef cattle or hybrid offspring of Chinese improved yellow cattle, in addition to feeding green feed, the concentrate feed formula is: corn 40%, wheat bran 20%, cotton cake 38%, bone meal 1.5%, salt 0.5%. The other is one-year-old to one-and-a-half-year-old shelf cattle, after about half a year of intensive fattening, age to one and a half to two years old, weighing 450 kilograms out of the fence. During intensive fattening, the amount of mixed concentrate can account for 1.5% of the body weight, and the daily feed concentrate is 3-3.5 kg, corn silage 15 kg, and high-quality hay 3-4.5 kg. The formula of mixed concentrate is: ① corn 40%, bean cake 26%, wheat bran 28%, urea 2%, salt 1%, compound additive 3%; ② corn 38%, sunflower cake 26%, wheat bran 28%, calcium carbonate 3%, bone meal 3%, salt 2%. Hybrids should be used in breeds, preferably uncastrated bulls or castrated bulls. The advantage of this method is that the bones and digestive organs of cattle have been fully developed, and after entering intensity fattening, the feed utilization rate is high, the fattening cycle is short, and the growth rate is fast, so it is suitable for the fattening of beef cattle in the vast agricultural areas of our country.

Adult cattle fattening:

Whether beef cattle, service cattle or eliminated cows can be used as fattening objects. The growth and development of these cattle has generally stagnated, the meat production rate is low, and the meat quality is poor, so they all have to go through a period of special fattening before slaughtering, and the fattening time is generally controlled at 50-60 days. In the first stage, 5-7 days, the main purpose is to train the cattle to go to the trough and learn to eat mixed feed. First, a small amount of mixture can be mixed into ammoniated straw feed, or the cattle can be starved for 1-2 days before feeding. After 2-3 days of training, the cattle can feed in the trough. In the second stage, for 10-12 days, based on the recovery of body condition, the formula was gradually increased. Each cow was fed 700-750 grams of compound feed and 100-120 grams of urea per day, which was fed in three times.
