Last Updated: 2024/12/22, Earthworms, also known as Dilong, Quji, Jian Bombyx mori, Yinxian, Hanxin, Ming, Diqiao, Ruan Shan, are common spineless animals in China. They are used as medicine because of their functions of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, activating channels and collaterals, etc. At the same time, they are good for purifying air, making fertilizer and so on.

Earthworms, also known as earth dragons, curls, strong silkworms, Yinxian, Hanxin, Ming, Diqiao, and Ruan Shan, are common non-spinal animals in our country. They are used as medicine because of their functions of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis and activating collaterals. At the same time, they have certain benefits in purifying air and making fertilizers, so many of them are farmed. What do earthworms eat to grow up? What kind of soil do you use to raise it? How much is the market price per jin? What are the prospects for breeding? How do you raise it?

What to eat?

The decaying organic matter and a large number of soil particles eaten by earthworms are digested to form feces excreted from the body, which are rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other nutrients. Earthworms also dig caves by stacking soil to one side or directly swallowing it for food. Some earthworms bring swallowed soil to the soil surface and excrete it in the form of small soil particles or earthworm dung.

What kind of soil do you use?

1, the ground raises, needs the vegetable garden soil and the excrement, the feces does not need to ferment. Method: take vegetable garden soil 5 cm thick, cow dung not more than 5 cm, cow dung 70%, pig or chicken manure 30%, not more than 2 cm. The density is 1 square meter and the earthworm is 1 kilogram.

2. raised in three-dimensional boxes, no soil is needed. Feces must be fermented: cow dung 100%; cow dung 50% straw 50%; cow manure 70%, pig or chicken manure 30%; density 1 square meter, 25 cm, earthworms 5 kg.

The latest market price:

At present, the wholesale price of earthworms in Tianjin is 30 yuan / kg, which is slightly lower than that in other areas by 3.00 yuan / jin. According to local farmers, although this is not the best time to sell earthworms, the local earthworm market is more active and farmers are active in shipping. Recently, the earthworm market is in the doldrums, and the market demand is small, mainly affected by seasonal factors. According to the quotation information provided by the whole county of Guangxi, the wholesale price of local earthworms is 250 yuan / 10,000, the supply is sufficient, and the market turnover is general.

Aquaculture prospect analysis:

1. Earthworms have made great contributions to ecological breeding in China. The concept of ecological and healthy diet has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, environmentally friendly and green health food is a product that consumers urgently need in the market. In terms of the current market situation, taking the local chicken as an example, the whole feed feeding of the traditional native chicken has gradually lost the market, but the sales of "ecological bug chicken" are very popular, and at the same time, there is such a big difference between the sales volume and the popularity of consumers. is this just because the word "ecology" has been added? Obviously not, the meat quality of ecological bug chicken is more delicate, unique, nutritious, delicious and healthy than that of ordinary chicken. A large part of this credit is due to bugs. Earthworms are one of them. Earthworms are rich in nutrients. Using them to sit on feed can not only promote the growth of chickens, but also avoid many harmful additives, reduce costs and promote the development of ecological breeding.

2. Earthworms are high quality protein feed. Earthworms contain a lot of protein, and the content of protein in dry matter can be as high as 70%. General analysis results can also get 41.62-66% crude protein. It is reported that there are many amino acids in the protein of earthworms, which are necessary for the growth and development of livestock, poultry and fish, among which leucine is the highest, followed by arginine and lysine. The content of arginine in earthworm protein is 2 times that of peanut protein and 3 times that of fish protein, and the content of tryptophan is 4 times that of animal blood powder protein and 7 times that of bovine liver. Not only the body of an earthworm contains a large amount of protein, but also a certain amount of protein in its feces. The Japanese Food Analysis Center once analyzed earthworm feces when the water content was only about 11%. Earthworm feces contain about 3.6% of total nitrogen, which translates to 22.5% crude protein.

3. Earthworms support the cause of environmental protection very well. Why would you say that? As we all know, earthworms have a strong ability to digest, can decompose a variety of organic matter, and their own use. Raising earthworms to dispose of garbage has been an environmentally friendly way adopted by many developed countries. With the rapid development of modern industry and agriculture, a large number of industrial wastes have been discharged, resulting in serious public hazards, the extensive use of pesticides, the pollution of tracts of farmland, serious pollution of the human environment, and a direct impact on human health. This kind of environmental pollution problem has attracted international attention.

4. It is understood that 300.003 million tons of paper sludge can be treated by raising 100 earthworms every day. Japan uses earthworms to treat up to 3000 tons of waste per month, while in the United States, it uses 500 million earthworms to treat 200 tons of industrial waste every day. There are a large number of earthworms needed, and we can imagine how much breeding space can be used by farmers, which not only promotes economic development, but also effectively solves some of the problems of environmental pollution. Earthworm breeding is a really feasible breeding project.

Culture techniques:

1. Earthworm box culture

Earthworm boxes raise available boxes, baskets, pots, cans, buckets, etc., which are suitable for raising earthworms of the genus Aisheng, such as Eisheng earthworms, Daping No.2 and Beixing No.2 introduced from Japan. Aisheng earthworms like to live in rotten grass, compost, cow and horse dung, decaying branches and leaves, rotten vegetables, melons and fruits, as well as the waste of paper, fiber and food processing plants and domestic garbage, but they must be accumulated and fermented until the temperature drops before they can be used as the base material for raising earthworms.

2. Pit-pond culture

Earthworm pit culture, including earth pits, brick ponds, old pig pens, under eaves, walls, corners, all available places, can be made of bricks and stones to form culture ponds, in addition to Aisheng vermis (red earthworm) can also be suitable for raising green earthworms. Adding fermented feed layer by layer in the pit or pond can be introduced into earthworm culture. For example, more earthworms can be added to the soil with a layer of feed to maintain soil moisture of about 30%, or old pig pens can be used for breeding in ponds.

III. Field stocking method

Earthworm stocking is suitable for mulberry garden, vegetable garden, orchard, nursery, feed field, perennial economic plant, forest area and fertile farmland with convenient irrigation and sufficient water, and is suitable for raising green earthworm. Before stocking, add preliminary mature organic fertilizers, such as horse and cow dung, straw, weeds, pig and sheep manure, withered leaves, rotten grass, etc., the number of worms depends on the worm species and individual size, and green manure or green fodder can be planted between rows.

IV. Large-scale farming

Large-scale earthworm culture is mainly used for large-scale breeding of Eisheng earthworm in factories, which must have certain special sites and facilities. it includes a complete set of equipment, such as feed treatment farm, temperature control workshop, culture bed, cocoon incubation bed, earthworm processing workshop, fertilizer treatment and packaging workshop, finished product laboratory and finished product warehouse, etc. Of course, decentralized culture and centralized treatment can also be adopted. For example, the breeding part is allocated to the collective or individual for breeding, while the factory focuses on the treatment or processing of finished products.
