Aloe barbadensis is a perennial herb of the family Liliaceae, also known as Aloe barbadensis, Aloe vera, Aloe vera and so on. It is native to Curacao Islands and Barbados in the American West Indies. It has high cultivation value and can also be used as a family pot breed. Let's take a look at the breeding methods of Aloe barbadensis.

Ramet propagation

The 2-year-old plant of Aloe vera can grow 10-15 tillers in one year. When the tiller grows to 4-5 leaflets and 3-5 small roots, it can be separated from the mother plant and planted in the field. Ramet propagation can be carried out in the whole growing period of aloe, but the temperature conditions in spring and autumn are the most suitable, when the seedlings turn green faster and the survival rate is high.

Cuttage propagation

After growing tall, Aloe vera can be cut off from the top of the stem at 10 cm to 12 cm, or cut the bud 10 cm 15 cm from the axilla of the leaf, hang it upside down in the shade for a week, make the incision shrink and dry, and then insert it into the seedling bed covered with shade to promote root survival. After rooting about 20 days after bud implantation, keep the soil moist and fertilize properly to promote the growth of seedlings and cultivate strong seedlings. When the cuttings take root 3-5, they can be transplanted in the field.

Leaf cuttings propagation

Aloe vera is cut a few millimeters from the base of the leaf, rotated and torn off along the center, dried the tiny wound and inserted it in the sterilized sand. In the temperature above 15 degrees Celsius and semi-overcast environment, it can take root in one month and sprout in five months at the latest. This method is very slow to reproduce, so it is rarely used.
