1. Sowing and raising seedlings

Corm fennel can not only be direct seeded, but also can be raised and transplanted. In order to cultivate strong seedlings, seedling transplanting is generally carried out in actual production. The time of seedling cultivation in spring is generally mid-early March, which is generally carried out in greenhouse and sunny border, while in autumn, seedlings are generally raised in July-August, and in winter, seedlings are generally raised in protected areas from January to February. It is necessary to accelerate germination before raising seedlings, first soak the seeds for 24 hours, put them in a greenhouse environment of 20-25 degrees, wash them with warm water once a day, and sprout within a week. Sow seeds with 4 grams per square meter, cover with a layer of fine soil after sowing, maintain 20-25 degrees during the day after emergence, the highest should not exceed 28 degrees, and keep about 15 degrees at night. At the same time, time seedlings and seedlings should be retained, and when they grow to 5-6 true leaves, they can be transplanted.

2. Colonization

The spring planting time of corm fennel is mid-early April and can be planted when the temperature is stable at about 15 degrees. The planting time is from August to September in autumn and from February to March in winter and spring. Before planting, 3000 kg of organic fertilizer, 20 kg of diammonium phosphate, 15 kg of potassium sulfate and 20 kg of urea were applied per mu, and then after fine soil preparation, about 5500-6600 plants per mu were planted.

3. Field management

It is necessary to water the seedlings in time after planting, apply 10 kg urea per mu after half a month, 15 kg urea per mu after 25 days, and 7-10 kg urea per mu after an interval of one week. The main diseases and insect pests of fennel in autumn are powdery mildew, gray mold, aphids and cabbage insects.

4. Timely harvest

After 40-50 days of planting, fennel can be harvested when the scales are white or yellow-white in autumn. Early or too late harvest will affect the yield and quality. The first expanded fennel should be selected and listed in batches. If you want to keep the seed, you need to be isolated from the non-heading fennel stem.
