Since mid-June, Hunan, Guangxi and other places have ushered in continuous heavy rainfall and torrential rains in some areas, and floods have affected rice and other crops to varying degrees. On July 1, Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Provincial Agricultural Association jointly held a meeting of experts on crop disaster relief and reduction, and put forward suggestions on technical measures. Experts say that due to the effects of long-term overcast and rain and internal waterlogging, the growth and development of rice will be slow and weak and vulnerable to diseases and insect pests. Therefore, first, we should pay attention to timely prevention and control of diseases and insect pests, and second, according to the growth of grain seedlings, we should properly apply fertilizer to promote seedling or spray foliar fertilizer to promote its growth and development.

Fang Baohua, deputy director of Hunan Rice Research Institute, suggested that targeted disaster relief measures should be adopted for rice at different growth stages, such as early rice and late rice.

Early rice wax ripening stage:

When the flood gradually recedes, it is necessary to seize the time to clean the leaves, it is best to use a sprayer, focusing on cleaning the top, that is, the ear and the top 3 leaves. After washing the rice leaves, spray immediately with 25% Ye Kuling or 20% thixen copper 125 ml and 60 kg of water. If it is cloudy after the flood recedes, the waterlogged water will be drained at one time, and if it is sunny, the shallow water layer in the field should still be retained and drained 1 to 2 days after the plant recovers. Do not carry out artificial support of seedlings caused by flood erosion and let them adjust automatically. At the same time, pay attention to avoid spraying to the stems when washing seedlings with clean water. For serious lodging rice, it is necessary to tie the handle and clean the leaves in time to reduce losses and harvest in time.

In the early stage of panicle differentiation of single cropping rice:

When the flood receded, the rice leaves were washed with water to restore the photosynthesis of rice leaves. After washing the rice leaves, spray immediately to control the disease. After timely drainage, check the leaf tip and base in the morning. The rice field with dew on the leaf tip and hard base indicates that the rice has regained its vitality. It can be lightly exposed for 2 to 3 days, and then 4 to 5 kg per mu of urea and potash fertilizer will be irrigated in shallow water. Choose the cloudy day after the dew is dry or after 4 o'clock in the sunny day. If the base of the rice stem is soft and wilting occurs, ploughing and replanting the mid-mature varieties of early rice in time will be direct seeded before July 25.

At the seedling stage of late rice:

Take the way of washing while retreating water, apply pesticide to control diseases and insect pests as soon as possible after cleaning leaves, and apply pesticide as far as possible after 4: 00 p. M. on cloudy or sunny days. If the phenomenon of leaf drum is found, sunshade net should be set up in time to prevent green and withered seedlings.
