Bean is an annual vegetable of the genus cowpea of Rosaceae. Also known as cowpea, cowpea, with beans. The following focuses on the planting time and methods of long beans.

Long planting time of beans

Long bean is generally divided into spring cultivation and summer and autumn cultivation, spring cultivation from late February to late March, planting from late March to late April, harvesting from early June to mid-August, and seed collection from late July to early August. The cultivation in summer and autumn was sown from mid-May to early August and harvested from early July to late October.

Planting method of long bean

1. Land selection and preparation

Beans are more adaptable, and the requirements for land are not very strict, but the yield is certainly better if the soil is more fertile. Dig as deep as possible during soil preparation, and sprinkle an appropriate amount of fertilizer as base fertilizer to ensure the fertility of the soil.

2. Sowing method

There are two ways of sowing beans, one is to dig holes in the whole field at certain intervals and sow three to five seeds in every other hole, and then bury the seeds after applying fertilizer on the side. Do not let the fertilizer approach the seeds when spreading fertilizer. If the fertilizer comes into contact with the seeds, it may burn out the seeds and reduce the seedling emergence rate. The second way is to first choose a small piece of land to sow the seeds, cover them with a thin film, wait until the seeds germinate, uncover the film, and water them, and then when the seedlings grow to five or six centimeters, you can pull up the seedlings and plant them at certain intervals. After planting, watering will be carried out if it doesn't rain or the seedlings will die.

3. Field management

Watering should be carried out before flowering, especially through transplanting seedlings to urge it to grow new roots again, and bean seedlings belong to crawling growth. so in order to increase yield and facilitate picking, we usually have to set up a frame when the seedling grows to about 30 centimeters. Make a good supplement of fertility during the flowering period of beans, which can increase the pod setting rate of beans, that is, increase the yield of beans.

4. Disease prevention

Beans are generally rare, but sometimes root rot occurs, as well as insect pests such as bean pod borer and cowpea pod borer. Therefore, in the process of planting beans, we should carefully observe whether there are these diseases, and once they appear, we should carry out timely treatment. As for the targeted potions available in agrochemical stores, as long as you tell the symptoms, they will tell you what medicine to buy. It's very convenient.
