Under natural conditions, the florescence of carnations is from April to September. But artificially cultivated and properly preserved carnations can be opened all the year round. The following is to introduce you about the maintenance of carnations, so that your carnations are full of flowers.

How to maintain carnations?

Pot conservation:

1. Light and temperature

Carnations should have at least 6-8 hours of light every day. If the light is maintained for about 12 hours, it will be more conducive to leaf photosynthesis to produce nutrients and provide sufficient nutrients for subsequent flowering. The most suitable temperature for carnations is between 13 ℃ and 25 ℃. Above 27 ℃ or below 14 ℃, the growth is slow. Therefore, during the maintenance period of flowering, the temperature should be controlled at 18-23 ℃, which is more conducive to the continuous blooming of flowers.

two。 Water and fertilizer

Freshly planted carnations are generally watered every 3-5 days, during the peak growing season, every 2-3 days, and can be watered once a day during summer drying. The specific watering interval and water quantity should be determined according to the dry and wet condition of the basin soil, and the loam can be kept slightly wet. Carnations generally apply liquid fertilizer every 10 or so to promote its flowering. In summer, it is best to suspend fertilization, otherwise the plant is likely to wither.

3. Pruning

Reasonable pruning can promote the flowering of carnations and double the number of flowers. When the plant grows to about 15cm-20cm, it can go to the top and retain 6-7 lateral buds. When pregnant with buds, keep one lateral bud and remove all the lateral buds so that the flowers can bloom more.

Bouquet:

With a sharp knife, cut off the end of the stem about 2 cm so that the incision can smoothly increase the area of water absorption. Use clean water and vases. Start the treatment with warm water and add the antistaling agent. Insert the flowers into the water and remove the branches and leaves below the liquid level. If the flowers wither, they can be wrapped in wet newspaper for 2-3 hours. Don't put the flowers in dry and hot places, especially in direct sunlight.

The carnation is rich in design and color, and it is difficult to cultivate and breed. Friends who like to grow flowers can consider it.
