Newcastle disease is an acute septic infectious disease caused by Newcastle disease virus, which can occur all the year round, often showing a devastating epidemic.

Popular features:

The most acute type: it often occurs in the early stage of the epidemic. The disease is acute, the mortality rate is high, most of the symptoms do not appear, sudden death. Acute type: diseased chickens are in low spirits, close their eyes and shrink their necks, and their crowns and drooping flesh are crimson or purplish black. Oral mucus hangs at the end of the peck, shakes his head and swallows, purring and coughing. Intake drops, excreting thin yellowish-green or yellowish-white feces. Some sick chickens have neurological symptoms. Subacute or chronic type: dyskinesia, head and neck torsion, turn or retreat, aimless nod, semi-paralysis or complete paralysis. Diseased chickens have diarrhea and emaciation, and this type mostly occurs in adult chickens in the later stage of the epidemic, with a low mortality rate. The laying rate of laying hens decreased, while soft-preserved eggs, discolored eggs and deformed eggs increased.

Main points of diagnosis:

⑴ often accumulates a large amount of dirty mucus in the larynx and trachea, its mucosal congestion and bleeding, thymus congestion and bleeding.

⑵ laying hens showed follicular deformation, yolk thinning, follicles easy to rupture, the formation of yolk peritonitis.

⑶ glandular stomach swelling, glandular stomach nipple bleeding, myogastric subcuticular hemorrhage.

⑷ intestinal lymphoid follicles swelling, jujube nucleus bleeding or necrosis, often protruding on the mucosal surface, cloacal scab bleeding or necrosis.

⑸ showed striped bleeding of cecal and rectal mucosa, swelling, bleeding and necrosis of cecal tonsil.

Prevention and control measures:

Regular vaccination of ⑴ is the fundamental measure to prevent the disease. It is best to use inactivated vaccine in high incidence areas and diseased seasons.

⑵ scientific medication prevention: put an end to or reduce the occurrence of stress, regular use of antibiotics to prevent intestinal diseases.

Treatment:

Chicken Newcastle disease Ⅱ strain or Ⅵ strain or clone.30 vaccine 3Mel drink 5 times the amount of water, anti-stress drugs can be added to the water, and drugs for the treatment of dry bacteria of large intestine and salmonella can be added to the feed to prevent concurrent infection. A week later, the chicken Newcastle disease inactivated vaccine was injected intramuscularly.
