How to cultivate muskmelon by using small arch shed
Variety selection: select varieties with a growing period of less than 100 days, early flowering, easy to sit melon, early maturity and strong disease resistance, such as Elizabeth, Zhongtian No.1 and so on.
Cultivate strong seedlings: the seedlings are generally carried out in the greenhouse or on the hotbed, and the seedling time is in the middle and late February. The seeds should be disinfected, soaked and germinated before sowing. Disinfection can be carried out by pouring 55 degrees Celsius water into the container containing the seeds and stirring them in warm water. When the water temperature drops to 30 degrees Celsius, the seeds are soaked for 6 to 8 hours and the germination temperature is generally 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Sowing: it should be carried out at noon on a sunny day. The temperature is 25 to 30 degrees Celsius before the seedlings are unearthed. When 70 to 80 percent of the seedlings are unearthed, the temperature should be controlled at 20 to 25 degrees Celsius during the day and 15 degrees Celsius at night to prevent overgrowth. After the first true leaf unfolds, raise the temperature in the shed, 25 to 30 degrees Celsius during the day, to promote roots and seedlings. The seedlings were refined at low temperature one week before planting, with a temperature of 15 to 18 degrees Celsius during the day and 12 degrees Celsius at night.
Planting: soil preparation and fertilization before planting.
① planting period: the planting period is an important factor to determine early maturity and high yield, which is too early and the ground temperature is too low to survive. If the planting is too late, it can not achieve the goal of precocious maturity. the best planting period should be more than 10 degrees Celsius in the local daily average temperature, planting in sunny and windless weather, and covering the film immediately after planting.
② planting method: generally high border single-row cultivation, according to the plant spacing of 35 to 40 cm, the seedlings will be planted slightly south in the middle of the border. The advantage of single-row cultivation is that the seedlings stay in the arch shed for a long time. 9 to 1000 seedlings were planted per mu.
Temperature management after planting: the focus at the initial stage of planting is cold protection and heat preservation. Close the small arch shed for 5 to 7 days, increase temperature and moisturize to promote slow seedling. After slowing down the seedlings, the temperature is controlled from 28 to 30 degrees Celsius during the day, and the night temperature is not less than 10 degrees Celsius. When the greenhouse temperature rises to 28 degrees Celsius in the morning, the film is released at both ends of the shed, and then covered after the temperature drops. In the afternoon, the temperature of the shed dropped to 25 degrees Celsius to cover the tuyere to ensure that the night temperature was not too low. In the future, with the increase of external temperature, the ventilation rate will be gradually increased. During the flowering and fruiting period, the temperature is controlled from 27 to 30 degrees Celsius during the day and 15 to 18 degrees Celsius at night.
Pest control: the main diseases and insect pests are leaf blight, vine blight, downy mildew, aphids and so on. Leaf blight and vine blight can be controlled by Sukeling, prohydantoin and mancozeb, and downy mildew can be controlled by antiseptic alum. Control should begin at the initial stage of plant disease, once in 7 to 10 days, 3 times in a row. Aphids are generally controlled with imidacloprid.
