Zucchini is divided into spring sowing and autumn sowing, which can be planted in early May in spring or in early September in autumn, early or too late sowing time can easily affect the germination rate, but also lead to serious diseases and insect pests, the most suitable growth temperature of zucchini is about 25 ℃, cold tolerance and high temperature tolerance, it is planted all over our country.

1. Planting time of zucchini

Zucchini originated in North America and spread to China in the 19th century. it is rich in vitamin C and glucose, which can clear heat and diuresis and moisturize the lungs and relieve cough. now it is planted all over our country. Zucchini is relatively cold-resistant, but not resistant to high temperature, generally sowing in spring and autumn, its growth temperature is about 25 ℃, spring sowing is in early May, autumn sowing is early September, sowing time is too early or too late, easy to lead to more serious diseases and insect pests, affecting its germination rate.

2. Soaking seeds to accelerate germination

The seeds should be treated before sowing. First, soak the seeds in warm water of about 60 ℃ to prevent the seeds from being scalded when the water temperature is too high. Stirring should be carried out continuously during soaking. When the water temperature drops to about 30 ℃, the seeds can be removed and washed, and soaked in water for about 6 hours. After the seeds absorb enough water, they can be removed and dried. Finally, wrap it with a wet towel and put it in a room of about 25 ℃ to promote germination, and wait for it to sprout.

3. Sowing seeds

Before sowing, we should first prepare the seedbed, mix organic fertilizer with loose soil evenly, properly add calcium phosphate and plant ash, and high-quality soil will be done. When sowing, be sure to pour enough water to keep the soil moist, then put the seeds according to the appropriate plant spacing, be sure to put the germinated end down, and finally cover the soil.

4. Post-management

After emergence, the seedlings can be planted to about 3 cm. After planting, the environment of high temperature and humidity must be maintained, which is beneficial to slow the seedlings. The temperature should be about 30 ℃ in the daytime and 20 ℃ at night. Watering and fertilization should be carried out when the root melon begins to expand, about 40 jin of compound fertilizer is generally applied per mu, and topdressing is carried out when the second root is swollen, and at this time about 50 jin of urea is applied per mu, after which it is necessary to fertilize and water once a month.

5. Artificial pollination

If you want to increase the yield of zucchini, you can use bees or artificial pollination, generally artificial pollination in August-October is better. When pollinating, you need to check whether the male flower has produced pollen. You can gently wipe the stamens of the male flower with your hand. If there is a yellow powder, you can pollinate. First of all, pick the male flowers, remove the petals, leaving only the stamens, and then gently rub the stamens at the stigmas of the female flowers. You can also use cotton swabs to dip powder on the stigma of female flowers, pay attention to the need for uniform pollination, can not be pollinated in rainy days or in the afternoon, otherwise it will easily lead to deformed melons.
