Selaginella officinalis, native to the eastern United States and parts of northeastern Mexico, grows mainly in moist soil and is a low-altitude plant whose wild samples have only been found at an altitude of no more than 100 meters above sea level. Cuiyun grass is a kind of plant endemic to China, which is mainly distributed in the south of China, born under valley forests at an altitude of 40-1000m, multi-humus soil or shady and wet weeds by streams.

Coral fern has strong adaptability and can be found from tropical to cold zones. the whole plant is tender green with dense branches and leaves and about 10cm. It is a perennial evergreen herb, erect, multi-branched and fresh as water plants. Cuiyun grass is a medium-sized verdant fern, mainly distributed in the tropics and subtropics, the leaves are all arranged alternately, the leaves are like cloud patterns, the four seasons are green, and the main stem is erect and then climbing, 50-100 cm or more long.
