Boron is the fertilizer of trace elements needed in plants. Agricultural borax is mainly used to supplement the lack of boron in some plants, so what are the ways to use agricultural borax?

I. usage of agricultural borax

1. Basic application: boron deficiency soil is heavy, borax can be selected as base fertilizer to prolong the time of soil boron supply. At the dosage of 0.5-1 kg per mu, the selected boron fertilizer should be fully mixed with farm fertilizer, chemical fertilizer or appropriate amount of dry fine soil as base fertilizer or strip application, so as to avoid contact with seeds as far as possible. In areas where boron deficiency is not serious and the soil is heavy, borax should be applied once every two years to prevent soil acidification from causing toxicity to crops. Special attention should be paid to the basal application of borax in greenhouse crops.

two。 Topdressing: boron fertilizer was mixed with human and animal manure, water fertilizer or chemical fertilizer, and the hole was used as base fertilizer during sowing or as topdressing at seedling stage.

3. Foliar spraying: when the soil is generally boron deficient or boron deficiency is not too serious, foliar boron spraying can be flexible and timely supplement boron according to crop growth, and the effect is remarkable. It has the characteristics of saving fertilizer, reducing pollution and fast plant absorption, so it is the most commonly used boron application method, which can be sprayed on the front and back of the leaf, but because the stomata are on the opposite side of the leaf, the effect of spraying on the reverse side is better.

Symptoms of boron deficiency

Growth point necrosis; vascular bundle damage, poor root development; abnormal growth of crop apical branches; deformed leaves; flower and fruit drop at crop growth stage; poor pollination and fruit formation; fruit deformity and seed abortion; delayed growth period; crop yield damage and poor quality.

Third, how to remedy boron deficiency?

The best way to determine the boron requirement of crops is through soil testing or tissue analysis. When boron deficiency occurs, it can be remedied by correctly applying solid or liquid borates to the seedbeds of annual crops or to the foliage of perennials. Perennial or annual crops can also be sprayed with boron-containing solutions. According to many years of boron fertilizer application experiments in China, it is found that for boron fertilizer sensitive crops, the application of boron fertilizer can increase the yield by about 20%, and for other crops, the yield can also reach about 10%.

Boron fertilizer can significantly increase the yield of rape, cotton, peanuts, grapes, fruits, chestnuts, vegetables, legumes and other crops.
