Both Rabdosia angustifolia and Rabdosia angustifolia are widely distributed in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces of China, and their growing environments are also very similar. They all grow in shady and humid places under the valley forest at an altitude of 1000-3000 meters, so what is the difference between Codonopsis lanceolata and Scutellaria mandshurica?

I. shape

Tongqian grass is a perennial creeping herb, the erect part is 8-37 cm high, except for stipules, bracts and flower stalks glabrous, the rest are sparse or densely retrorse pilose, hairs white or purple, leaf blade thin, round kidney-shaped, surface dark green, back light green, irregular sharp serrate or obtuse teeth at the margin.

Mirror grass is a perennial succulent herb, glabrous, tufted and rhizomatous. Stem erect, 2-13 cm tall. Leaf blade fleshy, dry time-varying papery, suborbicular or ovoid, 2.5-9 cm long, margin entire or shallowly undulate, green above, grayish green below.

II. Habitat of origin

Rabdosia angustifolia grows in river ditches and wet roadside grasslands at an altitude of 1060-2900 m; mirror grass grows in shady places under valley forests at an altitude of 1500-3000 m. It is often cultivated in some parks in southwest and north China for ornamental purposes.

III. Growth habits

Tongqian grass likes to be warm and humid, it is better to cultivate in half-day sunshine or shade, avoid direct sunlight, regardless of cultivation soil, it is better to cultivate soil with soft and good drainage, or to cultivate directly with water, the optimum water temperature is 22-28 degrees, strong adaptability, strong nature, easy planting, rapid reproduction, amphibious.

Mirror grass likes shade, but it also grows well in sunny greenhouse, and the optimum temperature for growth is 16-20 ℃. Chilling injury occurs in the environment below-4 ℃, and the leaf color loses luster or even falls off. Loam with good drainage and rich humus can survive the winter safely outside in the south.

III. Medicinal value

When it is used in medicine, the whole herb is used in medicine to relieve pain, clear heat, relieve dampness, treat abdominal pain, adverse urination, eczema and so on. Mirror grass in medicinal use, but also the whole grass into medicine, can reduce inflammation and detoxification. Mainly used for erysipelas, bone grafting.

On the difference between copper grass and mirror grass, we say here, although the two are very similar, but also very different, in the pot ornamental also need to be distinguished.
