Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Lotus, also known as "lotus" and "lotus", is a famous aquatic flower in China. It is solitary at the top of the pedicel, petals wrapped in lotus seeds, embedded in the receptacle, red, white and other colors, it is accompanied by turquoise lotus leaves, set off its fresh and elegant, but also known as "water hibiscus". So how should this beautiful flower be preserved?

1. Florescence

The lotus blossoms are different. They bloom one after another and do not interfere with each other. The flowering period of a single flower is relatively short, only a few days, but in terms of the florescence of the lotus population, the flowering period is very long. The flowering period is also different between the south and the north due to climate differences, with more than three months in the south and only about two months in the north. In general, after the stamens of the lotus come out of the water, it can be seen to bloom after about ten days.

2. Flowering maintenance

(1) soil selection

The growth environment of lotus is different from that of other flower species. You can go to ponds or rivers to get silt back. If you are worried that the water will become turbid after releasing the silt, you can first use the fine sand in the river to cover the bottom, and then release the silt, which can not only ensure the clear water, but also make the lotus grow stably.

(2) Water quality problem

If you plant lotus in a small pool, you don't need to change water frequently, as long as you replenish it in time; the lotus in petri dish can be changed every week or two to ensure clean water quality. Water should be replenished in time in summer, it must not be short of water, and corresponding warm measures need to be taken in winter.

(3) fertilization

Lotus is generally applied phosphate fertilizer, if necessary, add a little nitrogen fertilizer, if you are not sure, you can directly buy special fertilizer. If there is organic fertilizer at home, it is recommended to mix with the mud and then add it, the effect will be better. When the lotus is growing vigorously in summer, if you find that the lotus leaves turn yellow or fall, you can add some urea into the mud, but not too much.

(4) Disease problem

Preventive measures should be taken to control diseases, such as selecting excellent disease-resistant varieties, cleaning up withered branches and leaves in time, and so on. In addition, the intersection of water and drought can effectively avoid harmful bacteria.
