First, the selection of winter rape varieties

By selecting the leading varieties recommended by provincial agricultural departments, the leading varieties have better resistance and stable yield, stronger drought tolerance, which can significantly increase the emergence rate and reduce the cost of drought resistance.

Second, the method of sowing winter rape

Sowing rice with soil moisture immediately after harvest, making full use of the remaining soil moisture in rice field to realize rape emergence. The no-tillage technology of ditching and covering soil after drone sowing or artificial sowing can be used for soil moisture sowing, or combined rape seeder can be used for simultaneous sowing of seed and fertilizer, and soil moisture conservation should be suppressed after sowing. In order to cope with the decrease of rape seedling emergence rate which may be caused by drought conditions, it is necessary to appropriately increase the sowing rate and ensure the seedling emergence rate and basic seedlings, so as to lay a foundation for stable yield.

3. Active disaster prevention of planting winter rape

The seed can be treated with coating agent before sowing, and drought-resistant agent can be sprayed on the leaves at seedling stage to promote root development and seedling growth and enhance drought tolerance at seedling stage. Drought may also lead to overgrowth of early sowing rape, which can be controlled by spraying paclobutrazol.

Under the condition of drought, the fertilizer utilization capacity of rape decreased, resulting in the slow growth of rape, but for the fields with sufficient bottom fertilizer, the soil moisture could recover quickly after the improvement of soil moisture. Therefore, when topdressing to promote seedlings, we should pay attention to balanced fertilization of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and avoid increasing and partial application of nitrogen fertilizer, so as not to cause lodging and aggravation of diseases and pests in the later stage.

Drought will lead to insufficient accumulation of boron in the early stage of rape nutrition. The mixture of water-soluble boron, potassium dihydrogen phosphate and carbendazim can be sprayed at bud stage and early flowering stage respectively to promote growth and development. Biological disasters such as aphids, cabbage insects, Plutella xylostella and virus diseases may also be aggravated under drought, so it is necessary to strengthen prediction and timely prevention and control to avoid outbreaks.
