What kind of tree can be grafted with peach trees?

Peach trees can be grafted with trees of the same family. The most common tree species are hairy peach, flat peach, nectarine, apricot, pear tree, cherry tree and so on.

When will the peach trees be grafted?

Peach trees are generally grafted from April to June in spring, or from August to September in late summer and early autumn, the survival rate of grafting will be much higher in these two periods. Among them, 2012 seedlings are suitable for branch grafting in spring, while annual seedlings are suitable for budding in late summer and early autumn.

Third, what are the grafting techniques of peach trees?

Peach tree grafting is generally carried out by branch grafting or bud grafting, the specific methods are as follows:

1. Branch grafting

The main results are as follows: (1) the branches are treated first. Before blooming in spring, choose a peach tree that grows well, cut a branch of more than 20 centimeters, and put as many buds on the branch as possible. The lower part of the branch is cut into a wedge to facilitate grafting.

(2) choose more one-year-old seedlings from the rootstock and find a branch with a similar thickness to the scion. Cut it off and cut it in the middle of the incision, the depth is close to the length of the scion wedge.

(3) insert the wedge of the cuttings into the cut of the rootstock and tie them up with a rope. After being tied up, the wound is completely wrapped in a plastic bag to prevent it from drying up by bacteria. Disinfectant can also be applied to the wound.

two。 Bud grafting

The main results are as follows: (1) the line rootstock is trimmed, and the budding site is generally chosen within ten centimeters from the main branch of the peach tree.

(2) choose the healthy and good quality peach tree as the mother tree, and select the full leaf buds growing on the branches with similar thickness of the main branches of the rootstock to be used as buds.

(3) use a sharp knife to cut the upper part of the selected bud 0.6 cm and the lower part about 0.6 cm away from the petiole, the strength needs to be as deep as wood, and then cut vertically on the left and right sides of the leaf bud, the strength is as deep as wood, and then remove the leaf bud.

(4) finally, with the same technique, take a piece of bud on the rootstock which is about 0.2 cm larger than the grafted leaf bud, put it into the cut of the rootstock, and quickly wrap it with duct tape.

Grafted peach trees to do a good job in the later stage of the management is almost enough, of course, there is no grafting experience or lack of experience is not recommended self-grafting, you can buy successfully grafted peach seedlings for planting.
