When eating fishy food similar to fish and bullfrog, we often see the seasoning perilla leaves in it, which tastes very special and can lift incense while deodorizing. What is the perilla leaf? What are the key points of planting techniques?

What is perilla leaf?

According to traditional Chinese medicine, perilla leaves taste pungent and warm, and enter the meridians of the lungs and spleen, which has the function of relieving the surface and dispelling cold and wide qi. Perilla spice warm powder, into the lung surface and spread wind-cold, but also can walk the spleen blood and wide, external wind-cold, internal and dampness stagnation is particularly appropriate.

Perilla is also used as a natural preservative in our country. Wrap perishables such as fish and meat with fresh perilla leaves and put them in an indoor ventilated place. They can be preserved at room temperature for 4 to 5 days and still look fresh. In ancient times, perilla leaves were often used as tea to make beverages and used for a long time. Suye tea can detoxify and strengthen the stomach. At the time of Song Renzong, it was regarded as "the first soup to drink" by Hanlin Medical College.

In addition, dried perilla can also be used to process pickles, and now when making sauce, perilla is still added to remove fishy and antiseptic. When making kimchi with kimchi altar, put some perilla leaves to make kimchi have a special flavor.

Second, what are the key points for perilla planting?

1. Select the place

Perilla is very adaptable, but if we are growing commercially, we still need to choose a plot that is more suitable for perilla growth. The light should be sufficient, the drainage performance should be good, try not to choose clay. After selecting the land, turn the land 15 centimeters deep and flatten the bed.

2. Sowing seeds

Perilla is sown in spring, generally in March in the south, and a month and a half later in the north than in the south. When sowing, dig a ditch 3 cm deep in the border, 60 cm away, and then sow the seeds evenly and cover the soil. Hole sowing can also be carried out, the row spacing can be slightly smaller, the plant spacing is between 25 and 30 centimeters.

3. Transplanting

The way of transplanting is generally carried out under poor planting conditions. Add plant ash to the seedbed before sowing, water it thoroughly, and then sow the seeds. Keep the seedling bed moist during seed germination, wait until the seedlings grow to 3 to 4 centimeters, and water once the day before transplanting, so that the survival rate of seedlings will be higher. Transplanting should be done when the sun is not strong. In order to slow down the seedlings. After the transplanting is completed, we have to apply some organic fertilizer with a low concentration. If the weather is dry, you can water it every 2 to 3 days, and water less at other times.

1. Topdressing

The growth time of perilla is not long, usually only two and a half months. Therefore, fertilization is mainly based on nitrogen fertilizer to increase the nutrients of plant vegetative growth. Generally speaking, topdressing is carried out twice during the growth of perilla, and the first time is when the plant grows to 30 centimeters high, farm manure or chemical fertilizer can be used. Carry out the second topdressing before sealing the ridge and be careful not to touch the leaves.

2. Watering

Perilla should be watered in time if there is a lack of water at the beginning of planting, and as little as possible in the subsequent growth process. When you encounter more cases of Rain Water, you should pay attention to drainage to prevent fallen leaves.
