Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Sandy soil refers to soil mixed with a large amount of sand and a small amount of clay. It generally refers to soil with a large concentration of sand. This kind of soil is loose, permeable to water and good permeability, but its ability to retain water and fertilizer is poor. It needs to be improved during cultivation and is not suitable for some plants to grow. Well, sand land.

Sandy soil refers to soil made from a mixture of a large amount of sand and a small amount of clay, generally referring to soil with a high sand content. This kind of soil has loose soil quality and good water and air permeability, but the ability of water and fertilizer conservation is poor, so it needs to be improved when farming, so it is not suitable for some plants to grow. So, what is suitable for growing on sandy land? These kinds of economic benefits are good!

1. Peanuts

Peanut has a relatively high demand for geological soil, so in the choice of peanut planting, it is appropriate to choose sandy soil with flat terrain and strong drainage capacity. Peanuts avoid continuous cropping. In the first year, the soil of peanuts in China is not suitable for continuous planting of peanuts. It is best to choose the soil where peanuts have not been planted for several years. In addition, the soil organic matter is more than 1.0%, and the soil PH value should be between 6.5 and 7.5. The cultivation of peanuts also has certain requirements for air quality, requiring the air pollution index to be less than 1. Only by meeting these geological conditions at the same time is it possible to grow high-yield peanuts.

2. Watermelon

Cultivated all over China, there are many varieties, with various forms of exocarp, pulp and seeds, especially in Xinjiang, Lanzhou, Gansu, Dezhou, Shandong, Dongtai, Jiangsu and other places. Its original species may come from Africa, widely cultivated in the tropics to temperate zones of the world, and then introduced into China. The sandy loam with deep soil layer, loose and fertile soil and convenient drainage and irrigation should be selected and cultivated in the fields where melon crops have not been planted in dry land within 5 years and paddy field within 3 years.

3. Walnut trees

The cultivation and utilization of walnut in China has a long history, which is rich in nutrition, which has the functions of strengthening brain and intelligence, anti-aging, preventing constipation, lowering blood sugar and so on. With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the demand for walnut and its various processed products is increasing, which promotes the walnut price to rise continuously. Walnut trees have the advantages of strong adaptability, less diseases and insect pests, labor-saving management, convenient fruit storage and transportation and long life. Walnut trees like temperature and light, and have strict requirements for water, especially in the period of shoot growth and fruit development, they need sufficient water supply, so they should be planted in sandy loam soil with loose structure and good water retention and permeability.

Licorice

It grows in arid and semi-arid sandy soil, desert edge and loess hilly areas, and is easy to breed in the fields and beaches of the Yellow River diversion irrigation area. It has strong adaptability and strong resistance. Licorice likes the ecological environment with sufficient light, less rainfall, hot summer, cold winter and large temperature difference between day and night, which has the characteristics of light, drought, heat, salt and cold tolerance. It is suitable to grow in sandy soil with deep soil layer, loose soil and good drainage.

5. Pear trees

Pear is a fruit with high yield in China, which is second only to apple in planting area and yield, and is cultivated all over the world. It has strong adaptability to the environment, can adapt to mountains, hills, sand wasteland and other topography, and is not strict with the soil. Saline-alkali and waterlogged soil can also grow normally and is most suitable to grow in sandy loam with low water level. The root system of pear tree is extremely developed, and the root regeneration ability is strong, so the high yield can be obtained by a little management.

In addition to the above five kinds suitable for planting in sandy soil, we can also choose the right varieties according to the local climatic conditions.
