Potato is the fourth most important food crop in the world, after wheat, rice and corn. Rich in protein, amino acids and a variety of vitamins and minerals. Spring is a good season to sow potatoes, so how to grow potatoes in spring? Need to do these five points well!

1. Sowing time

Potatoes are usually planted at the end of March each year, and the soil needs to be thawed and the ground temperature is about 18 ℃ before they can be planted. The specific sowing time should also be determined according to the geographical environment, climate type and so on.

2. Soil preparation and fertilization

We should choose fertile soil, deep soil layer, loose, good air permeability, which is also one of the necessary conditions for high yield. If it is a slightly acidic sandy loam, stubble and deep ploughing should be carried out before sowing, and the ploughing depth should be up to 20 cm. Combined with ploughing the land, 2000 kg / mu of rotten organic fertilizer was applied, and more than 20 kg of compound fertilizer was applied according to soil moisture (the ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium was 1: 0.5: 2).

3. Seed potato treatment

Select suitable good varieties, and should carry out sprouting treatment, seed potatoes can be hung under scattered light, keep 15-20 ℃, directly promote short and strong buds, sow; before sowing, apply plant ash plus chlorothalonil plus new high-fat film to promote the cutting edge of the cutting piece to heal as soon as possible, reduce rotten seeds, increase potassium, and prevent diseases.

4. Reasonable close planting

According to the variety and soil fertility, reasonable close planting. Early-maturing varieties should be closely planted and late-maturing varieties should be sparsely planted. Ridging on flat land or closing ridges after breaking original ridges, ridge spacing 80~90cm, single row cultivation, plant spacing 15~20cm, soil cover thickness 10~15cm. The number of seedlings per mu is 4000 to 5000. After planting, the soil moisture should be preserved by spraying new high-fat film on the surface in time, so as to prevent the soil from forming plates and improve the emergence rate. After emergence, the soil should be cultivated in time, mainly weeding and loosening soil, and a small amount of soil should be cultivated to the root of the seedling. At the same time, cooperate with spraying new high lipid membrane to prevent bacterial infection, improve the ability to resist natural disasters, improve the intensity of photosynthesis, and protect the growth of grain seedlings.

5. Field management

Timely soil loosening, soil ridging, timely watering, mid-ploughing and weeding, reasonable fertilization, and timely spraying of Di Guo Zhuang Tieling before flowering, tuber formation and expansion period should be timely applied, so as to effectively control the wild growth of branches and leaves in the upper layer of the surface, accelerate the ultra-rapid expansion of underground tubers, enhance the ability to resist insect pests, and ensure the high quality, high efficiency and good harvest of potatoes.

6. Control of diseases and insect pests

Phoxim 3-4 bottles / mu was applied during sowing or before potato setting to control underground pests and spray new high lipid film to improve the efficacy; at the same time, aphids, 28 ladybugs, early blight, late blight and other diseases and insect pests can be killed according to the requirements of plant protection, and the consolidation effect can be consolidated by spraying new high lipid film.

In addition, when planting potatoes in spring, early or medium-early potato varieties with high yield, disease resistance, good quality and good taste should be selected according to the local climate characteristics.
