How to grow rosemary?

1. Planting environment

Rosemary is a kind of plant that likes sun and warm climate. it has strong drought tolerance and is suitable for planting in sandy loam. because it is afraid of waterlogging, it is necessary to do a good job of drainage in the field, and it is difficult to survive the winter when the temperature is below minus three degrees in winter.

two。 Reproduction method

The main results are as follows: (1) because the seeds of rosemary are small and the germination rate is relatively low, it is recommended to propagate by cutting, cutting 10 to 15 cm twigs from the top of the plant, removing 1/3 of the leaves at the base and inserting them into the rooting medium to take root.

(2) Rosemary can be propagated by striping, pressing the rosemary branches near the bottom in the soil and letting the part of the covered soil take root and then cut off as transplanting seedlings.

3. Pruning method

In order to extract its economic value, the top of the trunk will be removed when it grows to 80 centimeters, which makes the plant low, neat and easy to manage, and allows rosemary to grow branches continuously, produce more branches and leaves, and increase yield. If the growth of rosemary is not controlled, it can grow to nearly two meters high.

4. Fertilization management

Because rosemary is more resistant to barren and needs not much fertilizer, 20 kg / mu of compound fertilizer is usually applied during the seedling growth period, and 15 kg of nitrogen fertilizer and 25 kg of calcium superphosphate are usually applied per mu after harvest.

5. Market demand

At present, the planting scope of rosemary is still small and the planting history is short, so there is little demand for it as a medicine in our country. As a traditional spice plant, it has a broad prospect in industry, cosmetics, shampoo products, food addition and so on. All of these need to be further developed.
