In the process of agricultural cultivation, the use of fertilizers to improve the quality and output of agricultural products is a basic operation. Nowadays, there are a variety of fertilizers, such as farm manure, foliar fertilizer, compound fertilizer and so on. What kind of fertilizer is compound fertilizer? How to use it is the right way?

What kind of fertilizer is compound fertilizer

Compound fertilizer refers to chemical fertilizer containing two or more nutrient elements, which is generally processed by chemicals, with single nutrients, but with high nutrient content, good physical shape, and easy storage and transportation. it plays a very important role in balanced fertilization, improving fertilizer use efficiency and promoting the high and stable yield of crops.

Second, the advantages of compound fertilizer

1. High nutrition

There are many kinds of nutrient elements in compound fertilizer, and the total amount of nutrients is higher than that of unit fertilizer. the application of compound fertilizer can provide at least two kinds of nutrient elements for crops.

2. Uniform structure

Compound fertilizers such as ammonium phosphate do not contain any useless by-ingredients, and their anions and cations are the main nutrients needed by crops. The nutrient distribution of compound fertilizer is relatively uniform, and the finished product is mostly granular, which has a higher structural density than the finished powder or crystalline unit fertilizer, so the nutrient release is more uniform and comprehensive, and at the same time ensures the stability and persistence of fertilizer efficiency.

3. Good physical condition

Compound fertilizer is generally made into particles, low hygroscopicity, not easy to caking, easy to store and apply, especially convenient for mechanized fertilization.

4. Convenient storage, transportation and packaging

Because the compound fertilizer has less by-components and the content of effective components is higher than that of unit fertilizer, the volume occupied by compound fertilizer will be smaller, so the space occupied by packaging and transportation will be less, and the cost of transportation and storage can be reduced.

Third, how to use compound fertilizer is the correct method

1. Concentration selection

The concentration of compound fertilizer varies greatly, so attention should be paid to the selection of appropriate concentration. There are high, medium and low concentration compound fertilizers on the market. Generally, the low concentration of total nutrients is between 25% and 30%, the medium concentration is between 30% and 40%, and the high concentration is above 40%. According to different regions, soils and crops, we should choose to use economical and efficient compound fertilizer. For example, high concentration compound fertilizer can maximize the output of cash crops because of its high nutrition, low residue and high utilization rate.

2. Sowing method

Because of the high concentration of compound fertilizer, it should not be directly applied in the hole with the seeds when sowing, which will cause fertilizer damage, affect the development of seeds, and even burn seedlings and rotten roots during seedling emergence, resulting in poor or abnormal growth of plants in the later stage. When sowing, the seed should be about 5-10cm away from hole application and strip application of compound fertilizer.

3. Reasonable proportion

As the proportion of raw materials of compound fertilizer is different, attention should be paid to the proportion of fertilizer elements required by different crops. Compound fertilizers containing nitrate should not be used in leafy vegetables and paddy fields; compound fertilizers containing ammonium ions should not be used in saline-alkali soils; compound fertilizers containing potassium chloride or chloride ions should not be used in crops that avoid chlorine or saline-alkali soils; compound fertilizers containing potassium sulfate should not be used in paddy fields and acid soils. Otherwise, it will reduce the fertilizer efficiency and even poison the crops.

4. Application method

Compound fertilizer contains two or more high nutrient elements, among which ammonia surface application is easy to volatilize loss or Rain Water loss, phosphorus and potassium are easy to be left on the surface of the soil and can not be absorbed by plants, especially phosphorus can hardly be moved in the soil, surface application is not easy to be absorbed and utilized by crop roots, fertilizer can not be dissolved in case of drought, fertilizer efficiency is even worse. Therefore, the application of compound fertilizer should avoid surface application as far as possible, and cover soil deeply.

The correct use of compound fertilizer will bring us good benefits, but when choosing compound fertilizer, we should carefully identify the products produced by various manufacturers and beware of being deceived.
