Its flowers are very beautiful and fragrant, so they are known as flower immortals and flowers. So, what are the breeding methods and matters needing attention of peony flowers? I. Culture prescription of Paeonia lactiflora

Paeonia lactiflora is not only a common traditional Chinese medicine, but also an ornamental flower plant. Its flowers are very beautiful and fragrant, so they are known as "flower immortals" and "flower phase". So, what are the breeding methods and matters needing attention of peony flowers?

I. Culture methods of Paeonia lactiflora

1. Sowing time

Paeonia lactiflora must be sown in time in the same year, such as sowing in late August to late September in Heze area, if it is later than late September, it will not be able to take root in that year, and the germination rate will be greatly reduced in the next spring; moreover, even if seedlings emerge, because the roots of seedlings are not developed, it is difficult to resist the drought in spring and is easy to die.

2. Soaking seeds to accelerate germination

Remove shrunken grains and impurities from the seeds before sowing. Although the seed coat of Paeonia lactiflora is thinner than that of peony, it is easier to absorb water and germinate, but if the seed is treated before sowing, it will germinate more neatly and the germination rate can reach more than 80%. The method is to soak the seeds in 50 ℃ warm water for 24 hours and sow them immediately after being taken out.

3. Sowing in the whole bed

Sowing and seedling land should be fully fertilized, and if the soil is moist and suitable for sowing, you can directly do border sowing with seeds of about 50 kg per mu and sowing about 100 kg. Cover with plastic film after sowing and remove it after sprouting and unearthing in the following spring.

4. Field management

(1) weeding by ploughing

After emergence, the seedlings should be ploughed and weeded 4 times per year for 6 times, and the middle ploughing should be shallow so as not to hurt the roots and die the seedlings. In late October, before the ground freezes, cut off the branches and leaves at a place of 7mur10 cm from the ground, and cultivate soil in the rhizosphere for about 15 cm to survive the winter. The method of "splitting ridges and brightening roots" is often used in Bozhou, Anhui Province, that is, in the first ten days of May of the second year after planting, gently pluck away the soil around the peony plant, let the root be slightly exposed, dry it for 5 minutes, and then cultivate the soil to support the root, which can raise the ground temperature, kill insects and sterilize, and achieve the effect of increasing production, but the drying time should not be too long.

(2) topdressing

From the second year, topdressing was applied three times a year, the first time: light human feces and urine was applied from late March to early April, the second time: 500 kg per mu of human feces and urine per mu, and the third time: from October to November, it was mainly circle fertilizer, 1500 kg per mu.

5. Harvest

Radix Paeoniae Alba was harvested 3-4 years after planting. The harvest season is from late June to early July in Zhejiang, in August in Anhui and Sichuan, and in September in Shandong. The starch in the root is transformed too late, the quality is not solid after drying, and the texture is light. Choose a sunny day, cut off the stems and leaves and dig out the whole root. In addition to leaving the bud head as seed, cut off the root of peony and process it for medicinal purposes. The average yield of fresh roots per mu is 700ml / mu.

II. Points for attention in Paeonia lactiflora culture

1. Pay attention to drainage and irrigation

Paeonia lactiflora likes drought and fear of waterlogging, and generally does not need irrigation. In case of severe drought, water can be irrigated once in the evening. In rainy season, clear ditches and drain in time to reduce root diseases.

2. Pick buds at the right time

In order to concentrate nutrients for root growth, the buds are removed in time when they appear in spring every year.

3. Suitable climate

Paeonia lactiflora is suitable for warm and humid climate, and has the characteristics of light, temperature, fertilizer and cold resistance. It grows well under the conditions of annual average temperature 14.5 ℃, July average temperature 27.8 ℃ and extreme highest temperature 42.1 ℃.

The above is a full introduction of the breeding methods and matters needing attention of peony flowers. In horticultural applications, peony can form special gardens, decorate flower beds, flower ponds, etc., and can also cooperate with other flower shrubs to form a beautiful scenery. It is also a valuable flower and tree embellished in the courtyard, which can be planted alone or in clusters.
