Poor water conditions have also affected the reduction of hydroelectric power. Taiwan Power stressed that it is expected that the peak of power consumption this summer may hit a new high. Taiwan Power has fully mastered the power supply situation, strives to maintain a stable power supply, and hopes that the public will jointly save electricity.

Taiwan Power explained that the demand for electricity has been rising all the time this year. Except for epidemic factors, people have turned to domestic consumption and export is booming. Coupled with the recent hot weather, the domestic load has continued to grow. On the supply side, affected by poor water conditions, the amount of electricity purchased by hydropower in the first quarter of this year was 560 million kilowatt-hours, a decrease of nearly 16 percent compared with the same period last year. In the face of hydropower in the second quarter, Taiwan Power does not dare to make over-optimistic forecasts.

Taiwan Power pointed out that at 14:19 on the 11th, the instantaneous peak load reached 35.993 million kilowatts, a record high for this year, and the fifth highest in history in May. The peak reserve capacity rate is about 10.03 percent, and the backup capacity is 3.611 million kilowatts. Although the power supply signal remains green, the weather continues to be hot recently, and people are still urged to work together to save electricity.

Taiwan Power stressed that due to the upward trend in the use of electricity, and it is expected that the peak of electricity consumption this summer may hit a new high, Taiwan Power has fully mastered and is ready to strive to maintain a stable power supply. In the face of the coming summer power peak, apart from the commercial conversion of new units in private power plants and the replenishment of new renewable energy sources this year, Taiwan Power also spares no effort to carry out the overhaul or overhaul of various units in order to go online before the summer peak. At this stage, Taiwan Power will also dispatch units with good conditions and high efficiency to generate electricity online, and it is estimated that the goal of stable power supply can still be achieved.

In addition to ensuring the stability of power supply in the short term, power development also needs to be deployed in advance. In order to take into account the long-term goal of stable power supply and increasing gas and reducing coal, Taipower has also promoted the construction plan of gas units in the north, central and south, in which the Union Power Plant is actively promoting the EIA, and the Tongxiao Power Plant has recently passed the EIA review. Datan Power Plant and Xingda Power Plant are currently working hard, only Taichung Power Plant's gas unit construction plan has long passed the EIA review, but because Taichung City has asked for urban design review. Therefore, I hung it to the Zhongcheng government in March of (109), but so far I have not been informed to hold a metropolis review meeting, resulting in the passing of the EIA, but the current situation of construction has not yet been entered. To this end, Taiwan Power has repeatedly called on Taichung City to support the gas increase and coal reduction plan of Taichung Power Plant in order to achieve the goal of stable power supply and environmental protection.
