Hsinchu County: 375 lease out, tenant attention!

By the end of 109, the township (town, city) offices of Hsinchu County had registered 1,344 375 leased farmlands, 3,620 contracted lands, 2,162 tenant farmers, 3,413 leased landlords, and an area of about 706.88 hectares. Among them, there were 1,211 leases whose lease term expired on December 31, 2019, and preliminary statistics showed that there were 1,117 lease renewal cases applied by lessees or repossessed by lessors during the acceptance period.

There are 77 cases where neither the lessor nor the lessee has submitted an application. The township (town, city) office will handle the cancellation of the lease in accordance with the regulations, and announce the result and notify the lessor and the lessee. The Hsinchu County District Lands Office reminds tenants that if they have indeed continued farming, they can still express their intention to continue leasing and apply for lease resumption in writing to the office. The cancellation procedure will not prejudice the rights and interests of the tenants.

Hsinchu County Land Office further explained that according to the regulations, if the lessor has not applied for repossession and the lessee has the intention to continue the lease, the lease should be renewed. After the completion of this renewal operation, if the lessee has sublease, transfer or accumulated land rent for two years or has not cultivated for one year, the lessor may submit relevant supporting documents to the township (town or city) office under the lease for termination or cancellation of registration.

Hsinchu County Land Office reminds you that according to the regulations, each township (town, city) office has set up a farmland leasing committee. If there is a dispute between the tenant and the tenant due to farmland leasing, you can apply to the office for tenancy mediation. Through the mediation of the tenant committee, the dispute between the tenant and the tenant can be resolved. This can reduce the source of litigation and promote the effective use of land.
