1. Variable temperature method some flower seeds, such as tassel, pod, peony, peony, etc., have the habit of double dormancy of radicle and Hypocotyl, that is, the radicle (the part that develops into root in seed embryo) needs to go through a high temperature stage of 25 ℃-30 ℃ for 1 to 2 months or more to break dormancy, while Hypocotyl needs 1 to 3 months under the condition of 3 ℃-5 ℃ to break dormancy. These seeds must be mixed with wet sand before sowing, and then transferred to low temperature after a certain period of high temperature. after variable temperature treatment, spring sowing can germinate quickly. However, attention must be paid to ensure the time of high temperature period and low temperature period, otherwise it is still difficult for seeds to emerge after sowing.

2. Water soaking method for seeds with short dormant period and easy germination, such as Bauhinia, Pearl Plum, Golden Belt Flower, etc., soaked in 40 ℃-60 ℃ warm water for 1 to 2 days can be sowed directly. Torch tree and other seeds, soaked in 90 ℃ warm water, let it cool naturally for 24 hours, so that its colloid, wax seed coat softened, absorbed water, and then germinated. However, when the seeds are treated by water immersion, the fresh water should be changed frequently, and the time when the water temperature is higher than 60 ℃ should not be more than half an hour, and then the water temperature should be reduced to below 40 ℃, otherwise, the seed embryo is easy to die.

Low temperature method some flower seeds, such as Rosa roxburghii, Chimonanthus praecox, Forsythia suspensa, cloves and some herbaceous flowers sown in autumn, need to be treated at low temperature (0 ℃-10 ℃) for a certain period of time before they can break the dormancy of seed embryos and germinate. The method is to mix the seeds with sand with a humidity of 60% (squeeze into a ball, let go), then put it in a plastic bag, tie the mouth tightly, put it in a flowerpot, and then bury it in an open field 40 to 60 centimeters deep. The seeds can also be placed in a 3 ℃-5 ℃ refrigerator for 60 to 90 days and sown in spring. Or sow seeds in the open field in autumn, so that the seeds outside after the natural low temperature in winter, the following year germination unearthed.
