Potted plants, especially foliage plants with broad leaves, are always easy to absorb dust in the process of placement. On the one hand, dust will block the stomata on the leaves, making it impossible for plants to absorb water and oxygen from the air or evaporate excess water from the body to the outside world; on the other hand, dust will also make potted plants look dusty and dirty after spraying water, which is very ugly. Therefore, in daily maintenance, we should not only remove insects and diseases for potted plants, but also remove dust in time, so that the green natural space can show its elegant demeanor, and it is also of great benefit to the purification of indoor air.

1. The time to clean the leaves

The time to clean the leaves is in the morning, so that the leaves have sufficient drying time before the arrival of night, so as not to make the leaves in a humid environment due to the lack of sunshine and lower temperature at night.

2. The method of cleaning the blade

Water spraying method: the dust on the blade is washed away by the water impact force of the sprayer.

Wipe method: wipe the dust and sludge on the leaves repeatedly and gently with a sponge or cotton cloth dipped in water.

Brush method: use a soft brush to clean the dust on the blade

Note: the first two methods are not suitable for cacti, succulent plants and plants with downy leaves. Once the leaves are wet by water, it is difficult to evaporate, even if the moisture is absorbed by a dry cloth, it can not be guaranteed to dry within a certain period of time. And some flower buds that are afraid of water, such as the flower buds of African chrysanthemum leaves and the false bulbs of magnolia leaves, should not be touched by water, especially in the germination and budding period, water will affect the development of flowers.

Also, do not spray water directly on the flowers. Flowers are prone to rot and wither when exposed to water, which can also cause low fertilization and affect flowering and fruiting. Pomegranate, begonia, inverted Admiralty and crape myrtle and other potted flowers will cause excessive growth of branches and leaves. The latter two cleaning methods are recommended.
