In December of 2020, the Consumer Foundation purchased 20 mask samples from shopping masks, drugstores and e-commerce platforms in Taipei and New Taipei, of which 19 were medical masks and 1 was disposable dust masks. According to the investigation, the labels of the masks are in line with the regulations, but the price is slightly higher.

The Consumer Foundation pointed out that the production cost of the mask is between 1.3 and 1.8 yuan, after deducting the necessary cost of management and sales.
