The Council of Agriculture has announced that Lianwu in Gaoping area and Meretrix Meretrix mixed culture lice fish in Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan meet the standard of cash relief for natural disasters, with a relief amount of 90,000 yuan per hectare and 9,000 yuan per hectare.

According to the Agriculture and Food Department, in addition to lotus fog and milkfish, agricultural losses have also been reported in cabbage, heading cabbage, tomatoes and muskmelon. Because the cold damage to crops is delayed, the disaster often becomes apparent only after the cold spell ends, the sun comes out, and the temperature rises. The two cold waves add up to more than 90 million agricultural losses in Taiwan and the lotus fog in Pingtung is the worst.

As far as crops are concerned, the losses of lotus and cantaloupe reached 65.6 million yuan and 7.86 million yuan respectively. The main damaged fishery products were milkfish, tilapia, golden perch, gentian grouper and freshwater long-legged shrimp in clam ponds.

The fruit drop of Lianwu in Gaoping area is serious, with a subsidy of 90,000 yuan per hectare.

The agricultural department of the Pingtung County Fengliao Township Office said that the temperature in Hengliao was as low as 12 ℃ last week, but the growth of lotus trees must be more than 18 ℃. Low temperatures cause serious fruit drop and fruit cracking, and even if they are still hanging at the top of the tree, there will be browning, sunken or deformed fruit, which will affect the selling price in the future.

During the cold spell, Linbian township farmer Chen Hongyuan's lotus garden has fallen 600 kilograms one after another. He said helplessly that only 10% or 20% of the lotus fog still hanging at the top of the tree could be collected, and he would go to the public office to apply for assistance.
