"from the beginning of my work to my retirement, I spent forty years of my youth dealing with weeds." Jiang Yongzheng, head of the pesticide application team of the Agricultural Drug Toxicology Laboratory, stepped down in July this year, but her relationship with weeds is not over yet. After retirement, farmers and community groups around the country often invite her to explain weeds. In the minds of farmers, Jiang Yong is the well-deserved "queen of weeds."

The agronomic girl came to the drug clinic and devoted 40 years of youth to weeds.

In the past, weeds were often regarded as an eyesore by farmers in the fields, and they were troublesome roles in hindering crop growth and grabbing nutrients. Now, with the emergence of organic and natural farming methods, the grass cultivation model of symbiosis of crops and weeds has gradually emerged. In his research career, Jiang Yongzheng has seen the process of weeds from evil to acceptance.

Looking back on the course of studying, Jiang Yongzheng studied all the way from the agronomy department of Chung Hsing University to the agronomy institute. When she graduated at the age of 25, she was in her youth. She originally wanted to take a break after graduating with a master's degree. "I didn't expect that when I sent my thesis to the teacher, the teacher immediately asked me if I wanted to work in a drug institute." So on August 1, 1980, Jiang Yongzheng joined the drug institute as a planning assistant, and this stay was 40 years.

At that time, the drug institute was not called a drug center. "at that time, it was called the Taiwan Plant Protection Center, but it was not until 1985 that it was officially transformed into a drug center." She, who specializes in plant physiology in the agronomy department, studied how to improve crop yield and quality. She also worked in the plant physiology group, but her research focus was on weed control and the application of herbicides. In the 10th year of her tenure, she returned to her alma mater to study for a doctorate in agronomy from ZTE University.

Because his name was very neutral, Jiang Yongzheng University was misunderstood as a male before he was admitted to the university.
