The use of nutrient soil is very important for potted cultivation of flowers and plants, especially for the cultivation of seedlings, often plays a key role. But how to use nutrient soil scientifically is often the topic we are most concerned about, especially if we want to reuse the old nutrient soil. Today, the editor would like to share with you.

As we all know, whether the nutritive soil purchased from the flower market or the home-made nutritious soil belongs to the mixed matrix, a variety of plant materials are prepared according to a certain proportion, which often has the effect of being fertile and loose, breathable and permeable, but also conserving water and fertilizer. Therefore, how to use nutritious soil scientifically and rationally is a link that needs to be learned in the process of potted planting and cultivating flowers and plants.

For new nutritious soil, it generally needs to be used after exposure and other disinfection and sterilization. But even so, it is not recommended to use only nutritious soil to raise flowers and plants, because the purer nutritious soil tends to be lighter and has relatively poor water retention capacity. It usually needs to be mixed with some garden soil and other substrates in order to achieve a good effect.

As for the old nutritious soil, it is a pity to discard it, but because it has been used before, it is inevitable that there are all kinds of diseases and insect pests, and the nutrients are relatively consumed. So in view of this situation, how to turn the old nutritious soil into a treasure and realize reuse?

It needs to be used with caution for the old soil, and generally it can not be directly used for newly planted flowers and plants. First of all, we need to disinfect, sterilize and kill insects, which can be exposed to the hot sun, or we can pour some carbendazim solution into the old soil or even stir-fry it in a pan. Through a series of antivirus disinfection, sterilization and disinfestation treatment, re-use can ensure safety.

Before use, it is usually necessary to mix the old nutritious soil with some compost or new nutritious soil, and the proportion of the old soil is about 3-5%. At the same time, it is also necessary to add some fermented and mature organic fertilizer in the basin, and then add some garden soil, sandy loam and so on. in this way, it can not only improve the looseness of the soil, but also increase nutrients and improve soil fertility.

Of course, it is also possible to mix the old soil into the composting medium and integrate it with each other, but although doing so can enhance fertility, it often takes more time. For the rush to plant new seedlings in the pot, this usually becomes undesirable. Therefore, this method has not been widely used.

Mixing old soil with vegetable garden soil is also a way of waste utilization or a means of recycling. But after all, the used soil will inevitably be infected with diseases and insect pests, and these diseases and insect pests are easy to infect the plant, thus causing damage. At the same time, even if some nutrients or fertilizers are added, the soil will still lack some mineral elements that can promote plant growth, so it is also easy to cause disease, which can be fatal in severe cases.

Therefore, the reuse of old nutritious soil, on the one hand, can save costs and enable waste to achieve effective recycling; but on the other hand, it is also necessary to do a good job in the protection of diseases and insect pests, and do not infect plants with diseases and insect pests in order to use the old soil. so you must go through sterilization and pest control before use.
