Potted hyacinth is very beautiful, especially when it is in full bloom. Although the hyacinth blossoms are very beautiful, but after all, its flowering period is relatively short, perhaps some people have not seen enough, it has gradually begun to fade. Hyacinth is a perennial bulb plant, even after the end of flowering, as long as it is properly handled after flowering, it is still expected to bloom again in the coming year.

But how to deal with hyacinth correctly after flowering? In the last article, the editor shared the relevant knowledge about how to deal with hyacinth after anthesis. Today, the editor will share with you the treatment method of potted hyacinth after anthesis. I hope it will be helpful for you to do a good job in the post-anthesis treatment of hyacinth. The following editor will share the methods for you.

After the flowers fade, the leaves and stems of hyacinth will gradually wither as the temperature rises gradually in the following summer, so in order to avoid nutritional waste, we also need to cut off the residual flowers, leaves and stems of hyacinth in time after flowering, leaving only bulbs. However, when the storage method is different from that of water culture hyacinth, the bulb of soil culture hyacinth is suitable for sand storage.

Sand storage is to bury the dormant hyacinth balls in the hot summer to preserve them. And the seed balls of hyacinth cultivated in soil are not preserved for a long time like those in the freezer for a long time. Hyacinth seeds only need to wait until about July, preferably around July 20, to dig them out of the sand and then put them in the refrigerator. And the temperature in the freezer had better be adjusted to about 4 °C, because at this time we can promote the germination of the seed ball by this method.

Hyacinth bulbs are germinated at low temperature, and after the new buds grow, we can continue to bury them in the sand and cultivate them. When the hyacinth bulb is cultivated to about December, the hyacinth bulb not only has more roots, but also stronger, so we can pot it directly to the flowerpot as a pot for maintenance and management. And during this period, we do not need to spend too much time and energy to care.

Compared with the post-anthesis treatment of water-cultured hyacinth, the post-anthesis treatment of soil-cultured hyacinth is slightly different from that of water-cultured hyacinth. The former is mainly to cut off the excess part directly after anthesis, keep the seed ball and refrigerate it directly; otherwise, the seed ball is first stored in sand, then transferred to cold storage to accelerate germination, and finally planted in the pot. In contrast, the post-anthesis treatment of hydroponic hyacinth is more convenient than that of soil-cultivated hyacinth.
