But the winter in the north is really very cold, so we can't manage it as we do in the south.

But next spring should not be too early to move outdoors, because the temperature in the early spring in the north is still very low, potted peonies still can not stand the outdoor cold spell. For areas with relatively high temperatures, we do not have to move them indoors to keep warm in winter, we can avoid the tuyere and choose a place where the air flow is relatively stable, bury the flowerpot underground and keep the basin surface at the same height as the ground. 1. Pruning

After entering the winter, the peony immediately enters the dormant period, and the plant is basically in a state of stagnant growth, so it is very suitable for pruning at this time. The winter pruning of potted peony should be carried out on the basis of keeping the plant type round, mainly cutting off the sprouting tiller branches at the base of the plant and the overlapping branches, cross branches, thin branches of diseases and insect pests, etc., in order to retain the sturdy branches with flower buds. In order to achieve better ventilation and light transmission effect, the pruning of potted peony should be coordinated and appropriate.

2. Removal of leaves

After entering the winter, the leaves of the peony will gradually dry up, and the harmful substances such as bacteria and eggs attached to the leaves will continue to be retained. Therefore, we should cut off these dry branches and leaves in time, so as not to fall into the basin soil and continue to spread and harm the plants in the coming year. Third, watering

Because the peony is basically dormant in winter, the consumption of water is very small. Peony is a kind of fertilizer-loving flower plant, even in winter, we should properly replenish it with nutrients to ensure a good flowering effect in the coming year. However, in order to ensure the safety of fertilization in winter, it is recommended to apply organic fertilizer, topdressing with semi-rotten cake fertilizer or human and animal urine. 5. Weeding

Although it has entered the winter, but the vitality of some weeds is very tenacious, even in the cold climate, often can survive.
