Many pig-raising partners do not know how to judge whether their pig parasite infection is serious, or only by eye, now two simple and very accurate methods to detect parasite infection and test the effect of anthelmintic drugs are introduced to you, I hope you can master it.

Scratch index method and saturated saline flotation method were used to judge whether parasite infection and anthelmintic effect were ideal.

1. The scratch index method was used to detect the infection degree of Sarcoptes scabies on body surface and to test the effect of driving and killing Sarcoptes scabies.

Scratch index method refers to the static observation of a herd of pigs (not less than 30 pigs), the total number of scratches in 15 minutes divided by the number of pigs observed. (i.e. 30 pigs, the total number of scratches in 15 minutes divided by 30 is the scratch index)

1. Severe infection scratch index is greater than 0.4.

2. Moderate infection scratch index 0.1-0.4.

3. Mild infection scratch index is less than 0.1.

Note: If the itch index decreases significantly after 7 days of using anthelmintic drugs in pig farms, it proves that the anthelmintic effect is obvious.

2. Saturated saline flotation method is used to detect the infection degree of roundworm, echinocephalus, stomatode nematode, lungworm, pig kidney worm and other insect repellent effects in vivo.

1. The number of eggs in one gram of pig feces with severe infection is more than 5000.

2. 500-5000 eggs in one gram of feces of pigs with moderate infection.

3. The number of eggs in one gram of pig feces with mild infection is less than 500.

No matter in vivo parasite, body surface parasite, moderate infection above, must carry on anthelmintic.

Note: If the number of eggs detected exceeds 500/g before the use of anthelmintic drugs in pig farms, no adult is seen after the use of anthelmintic drugs, and the number of eggs detected again decreases significantly, it proves that anthelmintic drugs are effective.
