Sow stillbirth, not the end, must understand the cause of sow stillbirth, in order to ensure that sow next birth does not repeat, through years of veterinary clinical experience summarized the following through the "stillbirth" shape to identify the causes of sow stillbirth, for everyone's reference:

1. The fetus dies before birth (white fetus), and the fetus is not dehydrated;

Differential diagnosis: blue ear disease is common (one month before birth, it can break through placental barrier)

Treatment suggestion: Blue ear vaccine should be used with caution

2. The dead fetus is dirty and smelly, and the sow has fever and does not eat;

Differential diagnosis: streptococci

Treatment recommendations: use lincomycin, careful use of streptococcal vaccine

3. The dead fetus is clean, but soon after death, the head of the fetus is edematous, and the death time is longer. The fetus is dehydrated and dark brown;

Differential diagnosis: Toxoplasma gondii

Treatment recommendations: Sulfonamide

4. Whole litter stillbirth

Differential diagnosis: mostly seen in Japanese encephalitis

Treatment suggestions: JE vaccine (seasonal immunization at the end of March and early April)

The picture shows: whole litter stillborn fetus

5. Mummy fetus

A. Mummy fetuses are uneven in size, but they cannot be arranged proportionally:

Differential diagnosis: Pseudorabies

Treatment suggestion: sow immunized with pseudorabies vaccine 30 days before birth

B. Mummy fetuses are uneven in size, but can be arranged proportionally from small to large:

Differential diagnosis: Parvovirus infection in the second trimester of pregnancy.
