The root system of Yushu is underdeveloped, so it generally grows slowly. In addition to its own reasons leading to the slow growth of the plant, there are many factors that can affect its growth. One of the factors is the basin soil, if the basin soil is well prepared, it will accelerate its growth to a certain extent.

Soil is the material basis for the growth of flowers and plants, whether the preparation of basin soil is good or not will affect the growth of plants to a certain extent. The same is true for Yushu, a succulent plant, although it does not have a high demand for soil quality, but it also likes loose and permeable sandy loam.

Yushu has the characteristics of tolerance to drought and waterlogging. If the permeability of basin soil is too poor, it will not only affect the respiration of roots, but also easily cause stagnant water and cause rotting roots. Therefore, the permeability of the basin soil must be strong to ensure that the roots of the plant can smoothly exchange air and at the same time will not cause stagnant water in the basin because of watering too much.

Not only that, Yushu also likes fertile soil, but it is not resistant to fertilizer. Therefore, when allocating soil to Yushu, it is required to increase some soil fertility on the basis of loose air permeability and strong water permeability. Yushu itself is also an evergreen plant, as long as the growth environment is suitable, it will always keep growing, so it will not only consume nutrients.

In addition, Yushu is also a kind of acid-loving plant, so when we mix soil for it, we suggest that the soil should be slightly acidic. This can better promote the growth of the plant. If the salinization of basin soil is too serious, it will inevitably lead to the poor growth of Yushu.

Therefore, when we prepare soil for potted jade trees, the soil is required to be fertile and loose, breathable and permeable, rich in humus and slightly acidic. This kind of soil can better meet the growth needs of the plant, make the plant grow faster and have a better ornamental effect. It is generally recommended to use rotten leaf soil, garden soil, river sand, and according to the proportion of 5:2:3, the ph value should be kept at about 6.5.
