Many flowers in life do not need to bud, but this kind of flower to be introduced today is more conducive to its growth after bud. The following small series will introduce the method of bud division of Clivia.

Clivia into the adult stage, can grow new buds, new buds break off, cultivate into new plants, this is called Clivia asexual reproduction, according to the position of buds can be divided into stem lateral buds, stem buds, interleaf buds, these buds are grown from the stem. When the bud grows to 6-7 leaves, the bud at the bottom of stem and the bud at the side of stem can be divided into plants, and the best time for dividing plants is in spring and autumn combined with changing pot soil. Because the temperature is lower in this season, the wound of ramets is not easy to infect and rot. The interleaf buds must wait until the leaves on the bud side naturally fall off to expose all buds before considering treatment, when the buds generally grow larger.

Method of plant division:

Can adopt cut bud, or hand break bud method. Bud cutting and plant division are mostly used for bud at the bottom of stem. The connecting part of daughter plant and mother plant is large. It is not easy to make bud take root by hand. Cut off the new rootstock with knife, so as to improve the survival rate of bud. Hand-breaking buds are mostly used for stem lateral buds or interleaf buds, because these two kinds of buds are on the outside of the stem. When operating, one hand holds the false bulb of the mother plant, the other hand holds the base of the bud, gently breaks it, paying special attention to the new plant must retain some roots, so that it is easy to survive. After breaking off the wound must be disinfected with plant ash, charcoal powder or purple potion, and dried for 4-5 hours to wait for the wound to dry, and then loaded plate. Pay attention to the nutrient soil near the wound position to mix some river sand, watering not too much, so as to help the wound recover as soon as possible, to prevent ulceration.
