The benefits of family potted orchids are very many, not only for appreciation, but also for decorating the home environment, and purifying indoor air, especially for absorbing indoor formaldehyde. It can be said that the family potted orchid is not only eye-nourishing, but also practical, and it is one of the ornamental flowers and plants with very high application rate.

Cymbidium has developed root system and tenacious vitality, so it often uses the way of pressing to raise seedlings. But the seedlings are growing very fast, so we need to strengthen the maintenance and management in time to ensure that the seedlings can thrive. However, in the process of cultivating seedlings, many basin friends will not master the maintenance methods, which will lead to slow growth and even death of seedlings.

1. Placement position

If we want to cultivate Cymbidium seedlings, first of all, we need to choose the best conservation environment for them. The position is usually required to be well-lit, bright and ventilated, but it should not be exposed to the scorching sun. In particular, the light intensity in summer is too strong, and this season happens to be the season when a large number of new buds grow out of hanging orchids, which is very suitable for striping and breeding. Therefore, during the seedling cultivation, it is necessary to properly shade to ensure that the maintenance environment has sufficient scattered light.

Second, watering the right amount

Cymbidium prefers the moist growth environment, but the seedlings consume relatively more water during the growth period, and the requirement for air humidity is relatively high. Therefore, in addition to timely watering, it is also necessary to spray more foliar water to the plants to keep moisture and cool down. If you water it, you can usually wait until the basin soil is dry and thoroughly watered. But for the seedlings, it is more afraid of pouring water, generally take the way of flooding to supply water, to avoid stagnant water in the basin or basin soil for a long time too wet.

III. Adequate nutrients

Due to the rapid growth of Cymbidium in the seedling growth period, the demand for nutrients is large, so timely topdressing to supplement nutrients is very important to promote plant growth. During the growing period, the seedlings are generally topdressing with compound fertilizer with high nitrogen content, or choosing mature organic fertilizer to be poured in the basin, once every half a month, but thin enough. In this way, Cymbidium seedlings will be able to continuously get sufficient nutrients, thus ensuring that it can always maintain exuberant growth.

IV. Weeding and pest control

Usually during the maintenance period, if you find weeds in the basin, you must pull them out in time to avoid competing for the nutrients that originally belong to the seedlings and prevent them from weakening the growth of the seedlings. At the same time, because we usually pour some organic fertilizer and water in the basin, there may be some mosquitoes and other insect pests in the basin, so we also need to use medicine in time to prevent it from gnawing on the roots of the seedlings.
