Happiness tree likes the soil environment which is fertile and loose, breathable and permeable, rich in organic matter, but also has the characteristics of humidity and drought tolerance, warmth and cold resistance, and happiness tree and Ping an tree have many common characteristics. Ping an tree prefers acidic soil environment, so what about it?

Practice has proved that the pot-planted happiness tree can often maintain good growth by using acidic soil environment, but the plant growth state is not satisfactory when using alkaline soil. It can be seen that the happiness tree is a kind of green plant which likes the acid soil environment. Therefore, when we prepare the basin soil, we should also consider the acidity and alkalinity of the soil, based on the acidity of the soil.

In fact, Ping an tree can survive in acidic, neutral and slightly alkaline soil environment, and the ph value of basin soil should be controlled between 4.5 and 8.5. However, in terms of soil quality, it is recommended to use acidic soil to plant and cultivate happiness trees. And the root system of Happiness Tree is relatively developed, so it is suitable to be planted in deep sandy loam. In order to make the basin soil show a slightly acidic structure, we can adjust the acidity of the soil by a variety of means.

First, add edible vinegar

The proper addition of edible vinegar to the basin soil can increase the acidity of the soil and make the basin soil more suitable for the growth of safe trees. But the amount of edible vinegar must be well controlled, can not be too much, according to the proportion of 1:30 diluted with water, after mixing evenly in the basin soil.

Second, use Amoy rice water

Usually, after cooking in Taomi, you can collect it, then put it into a larger container, seal it for 1-2 days, and then irrigate it into the basin soil. However, the use of rice washing water also needs to pay attention to control the concentration, and it also needs to be diluted with water before it can be poured into the basin soil. This can not only achieve the purpose of acidifying the soil, but also will not cause harm to the plant.

Third, fruit peel bubble water

In order to get acidic water, we can collect leftover fruits, rotten fruits, and even peels and put them in a sealed container. Then add the right amount of water and seal the mouth of the container to avoid air leakage and let the material in the container fully ferment. After about 1-2 weeks, we can pour out the solution and dilute it and use it to water the soil.

Of course, in addition to the above three methods, we can also add a small amount of ferrous sulfate and sulfur powder when watering the happiness tree, and also pay attention to controlling the dosage. A low concentration of potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution (0.2%) can also be directly used to irrigate the soil, which can often serve the purpose of acidifying the soil. In short, there are many ways to keep the soil acidic, we might as well try more, choose a suitable method to operate, as long as the acidity can be controlled within a reasonable range.
