Correction and treatment of eight-leg and intestinal hernia in delivery room piglets with medical tape (figure)
Pig leg
Pig leg means that the two front legs and / or two hind legs (more commonly) of newborn piglets do not fit together. The incidence rate can reach 2%. The movement ability of sick piglets is affected, and it will be difficult to find nipples.
Symptom
1 the piglets' front legs or hind legs are parted to both sides and cannot stand.
(2) the sick piglets take the dog sitting position.
3 sick piglets often die of hunger or are crushed to death by sows because they are unable to escape.
Cause of disease
Sows fed with mycotoxin feed during pregnancy will produce eight-legged piglets.
Long white multiple hair, male multiple hair. The disease is caused by muscle fiber dysplasia in the hind leg, upper pelvis, front leg and so on.
It is more likely to appear on a smooth, damp floor.
Treatment.
The effect of medical adhesive tape fixation method is better.
First of all, tear open a piece of adhesive tape as shown in figure 1, starting from the back to the tail and bifurcating to the calf joint, pressing it tightly with your hands, then wrapping each thigh with adhesive tape around each thigh for a week as shown in figure 2, and finally using a piece of adhesive tape 5 cm wide to stick to the back two thighs as shown in figure 3, leaving a gap of 5-6 cm between the legs to allow the pig to move and walk. When done, put the pig on the ground and the pig can stand and walk on its own. this method is applicable to newborn piglets, which will slowly recover to walk freely in about a week or so.
Treatment of Porcine umbilical hernia with adhesive Tape
Umbilical hernia is mostly caused by congenital enlargement of umbilical foramen and poor development of closed sex. Umbilical hernia can occur when sows give birth incorrectly and the abdomen is hit. When the intestines enter the umbilical hole to form a hernia, surgery must be performed. At present, the pig industry generally uses the method of operation after weaning, which is more harmful to pigs and difficult to operate. Now we introduce a simple and practical method of adhesive tape fixation that can be operated by ordinary employees. This method is suitable for castration 3-5 days after delivery. First, the testes are castrated, and then the exposed intestines are stuffed back to the abdominal cavity with the handle of a scalpel. Finally, prepare two pieces of medical adhesive tape with a width of 3 cm around the thigh to the buttocks. Finally, use a piece of adhesive tape to stick around the abdomen near the thigh to the back. Pay attention to sticking and fastening the eyes so as not to let the intestines leak back. Generally, the navel will close and grow well in about 10 days.
