The cause of sow paralysis?
Production paralysis, also known as sow paralysis, including prenatal paralysis and postpartum paralysis, is a disease characterized by muscle relaxation and hypocalcemia in sows before and after delivery. The main reasons are nutritional disorders such as calcium and phosphorus.
The reasons for the decrease of blood calcium may be related to the following factors: a large amount of blood calcium enters colostrum before and after delivery, and the calcium lost in blood can not be replenished quickly, resulting in a sharp decrease in blood calcium; severe deficiency of calcium intake in the late stage of pregnancy; reduction of calcium intake in childbirth stress and intestinal absorption; improper or lack of dietary calcium and phosphorus, vitamin D deficiency, low magnesium diet can accelerate the occurrence of hypocalcemia. In addition, improper feeding and management, poor postpartum care, old and frail sows, lack of exercise, etc., can also lead to the disease.
