In a pig farm in Fujian, the piglets had persistent diarrhea for more than half a year, and the symptoms were similar to PEDV, but the age of onset was a little later, and the mortality rate was about 30%. The vaccine containing PEDV mutant was repeatedly immunized against diarrhea, but the results were ineffective, and the enhanced pseudorabies dog vaccine was ineffective. After testing, the pig farm PEDV, PRV, TGEV, rotavirus pathogen test were negative, α-coronavirus test was positive.

Since 2017, many persistent viral diarrhea diseases similar to PEDV have occurred in Guangdong, Fujian and Guangxi, causing great losses to pig farms, and the test results have nothing to do with PEDV, PRV, TGEV and rotavirus.

1. Porcine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus disease

CSADS-cov, also known as bat-derived coronavirus, originated from Chinese chrysanthemum-headed bat, has many similarities with SARS virus, similar to PEDV and PDCOV infection, but more harmful and higher mortality. Nursing pigs and fattening pigs also die from dehydration.

two。 Porcine intestinal coronavirus disease (PDCOV), or porcine intestinal alpha coronavirus disease

Caused by porcine intestinal α-coronavirus, the symptoms are similar to PEDV, but the age of onset is later than PEDV, and the mortality rate is lower than PEDV, about 30% to 50%, mainly affecting suckling piglets.

Suggested prevention and control scheme:

At present, there is no effective vaccine for the prevention and control of the above two kinds of viral diarrhea.

① strengthens biosafety, kills bats in the field, and strictly does a good job of all entry and exit of the delivery room, giving the delivery house enough time to clean up the empty column.

② batch production has a good effect on the control of the disease.

③ used the small intestine (including contents) of piglets with diarrhea symptoms within 18 hours as tissue inactivated vaccine to immunize pregnant sows twice (note: piglets with diarrhea more than 18 hours lost villi and low antigen content)

④ to find a relatively high level of teaching and research institutions to isolate virus culture, the production of inactivated vaccine for prevention and control.
