Many potted friends like to raise some flowers and plants at home to decorate the space and enhance the taste of the home environment, while for those who like fruit, it is generally recommended that we raise some fruit plants at home. Potted figs are a good choice, which can not only be used to watch or decorate the home environment, but also can be harvested for eating in the mature season.

The flowering and fruiting period of figs is from May to July, and now it has entered autumn, and its fruit is already ripe. But if the ripe fruit is not picked in time, the fruit can be hung up until October. However, fig was originally a small deciduous subtropical tree, but a large number of evergreen varieties have been derived. And potted planting, autumn and winter is possible to achieve no fallen leaves, but a small number of fallen leaves are also normal.

1. Placement position

Figs prefer the growth environment with plenty of light, after entering the autumn, because the light intensity is greatly reduced, the temperature is also decreasing, so our location also needs to be re-selected. It is generally recommended that we put the fig pot in a bright and ventilated place with plenty of sunshine for maintenance. In autumn, you should let it bask in the sun more. Although it is also sun-resistant in summer, it is easy to cause dehydration because the light intensity is too strong and water evaporates too quickly. So summer also needs to avoid long exposure to the sun, and autumn to bask in the sun.

Second, properly watered

The frequency of watering in autumn is lower than in summer, after all, the temperature in summer is high, the weather is hot, and water transpiration is faster. In autumn, as the temperature turns cooler, figs will shed leaves, and water transpiration will naturally be much less than in summer. Avoid watering too much in autumn, otherwise the potted soil will easily cause rotten roots if it is too wet for a long time. Usually only need to keep the basin soil slightly moist, neither too much watering, nor long-term drought and water shortage.

III. Scientific fertilization

The work of fertilizing figs in autumn is very important. after all, it is too hot in summer, and we fertilize it much less frequently, because summer is not suitable for regular fertilization. However, if the plant is short of fertilizer in autumn, the branches and leaves of the plant tend to grow thinner, so it is necessary to increase fertilization in time when the autumn weather turns cool. As long as scientific fertilization in autumn, figs not only grow stronger branches, but also improve their ability to protect themselves from the cold, which is more conducive to the next winter, after all, figs themselves are not hardy.

But sometimes we may encounter that the figs have almost lost their leaves or even lost their light in autumn. But its fruit will still hang on the branches, at this time, it is recommended that we pick off the fruit in time, which can reduce the consumption and loss of nutrients. After the fruit is removed, it will naturally save a lot of nutrients, and it is also very helpful to thicken the branches of the plant and improve its cold resistance.
