How to prune the fragrant vine after flowering

1. Tool preparation

Before we officially begin the pruning of the fragrant vine, we need to prepare the right tools. In general, we need to prepare special sharp tools, such as scissors or knives, as well as 1000-2000 times diluted carbendazim or potassium permanganate solution, to carry out a thorough disinfection.

2. Pruning branches and leaves

The pruning of the fragrant vine is most suitable from the pruning of the branches and leaves. During the growth period, the vine will grow a lot of long branches, overlapping branches, cross branches and so on. We should cut these branches in time to save more nutrients for the flowers, so that the fragrant vines can provide nutrients to the flowers.

3. Flower pruning

In addition to pruning inappropriate branches, we also need to do some pruning of flowers. We should pick out the flowers on the plant that do not grow well enough, cut off all the weak flowers, promote the plant to sprout more flowers and provide nutrients to the better-growing flowers.

4. Maintenance

After the pruning work, we should take out the disinfection solution prepared in advance, disinfect and sterilize the incision on the branch, so that the wound can avoid infection, and move the plant to the window for ventilation treatment, accelerate the wound contraction and healing process, accelerate recovery.
