Many flowerpots like to raise some flowers and plants at home, not only for appreciation, but also for decorating the environment, purifying the air, and making people feel refreshed. Moreover, some flowers and plants can even be used as medicine or for dietetic therapy. Dendrobium is such a flower plant that integrates ornamental, medicinal and health purposes.

But potted flowers and plants need us to pay a certain amount of time and energy to care for it in order to give full play to its application value. Especially Dendrobium, a multifunctional and versatile flower plant, usually takes a lot of time and effort to care for. Moreover, the details of the treatment is also very important, which greatly affects the growth and ornamental of the plant.

Many pot friends have encountered the phenomenon of Changbaikine on the pot surface in the process of raising Dendrobium, and this is often a phenomenon that everyone easily ignores. In fact, for potted plants to appear in this situation, we must pay attention to, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of plants.

When white alkali is produced on the pot surface of Dendrobium, it is often caused by improper water quality used when watering, and often caused by the use of hard water to water flowers. Or it is caused by improper fertilizer selection, mostly due to the application of chemical fertilizers and bad compound fertilizers. The presence of alkalization in the pot is detrimental to the growth of Dendrobium because the plant itself is slightly acidic.

At this point, we need to focus on looking at the base color when the pot is placed and the current color, and then compare it. If the situation is not very serious, we should use soft water irrigation later, it is best to drop a few drops of acidic substances in the water to adjust the pH of the substrate, so that it is more suitable for the growth of Dendrobium. Generally, after several times of continuous use of slightly acidic soft water, the situation can be improved, and then only need to irrigate with clean water.

If it is caused by improper fertilizer selection when we fertilize, it is recommended not to apply inferior compound fertilizer as much as possible, let alone chemical fertilizer. It is generally recommended to apply some decomposed organic fertilizers, such as soybean water, sheep dung, etc. If you really want to apply the purchased fertilizer, it is recommended to apply slow release fertilizer. Moreover, the dosage of slow release fertilizer does not need to be too much, and the frequency does not need to be high. More than 10 grains can be sprinkled into the pot in 1-2 months of the growing season.
