Orchids in people's impression is the representative of simple, elegant and beautiful, so many people think that orchids are shady at first. In fact, orchids are also common flowering plants, which also need the "nourishment" of light, and generally need a certain amount of direct light to help blossom. If the orchid is preserved in scattered light, its leaves will be weak and soft, the plant is easy to lodge, and it is not easy to blossom.

It can be seen that raising orchids and how to bask in the sun is also a skill. Effective light can promote the photosynthesis of orchids to produce the nutrients needed by plants. As for native orchids in nature, usually when trees do not sprout in spring, orchids growing under trees usually shine all day long, and native orchids, moreover, domestic orchids should be properly exposed to the sun and receive light. And the following tips suggest you master it well.

1. Time selection

You can usually choose to bask the orchids in the sun before 10:00 and after 4 p.m., when the temperature is not as hot as at noon and the ultraviolet rays are slightly weaker, making it less likely to sunburn the leaves. If in the hot summer, at this time must be appropriate to the orchid shade, of course, does not mean that the summer temperature is high, there is no need to bask in the sun. The flower bud differentiation period of orchids is mostly in summer, and it is not conducive to the budding of orchids if the light is not enough.

2. Autumn and winter

After falling leaves in autumn and before new buds sprout next spring, that is, around March, native orchids will be exposed to plenty of direct light, when the temperature is relatively low, so it's okay to bask in the sun. Therefore, the orchid maintained at home can also be exposed to the sun at this time, which is conducive to the opening of its flowers.

And other time period, can build a sunshade net to orchid, use to prevent the exposure of scorching sun. Except for morning or evening light, noon light exposure is prohibited.

3. Orchids in pots

If it is a newly bought orchid just coming into the pot or just changing the pot is in the slow seedling stage, be sure not to give it the sun, wait for its root system to grow well, can grow new buds and then give it the sun.

In the usual process of raising orchids, if the orchids are not bright enough, they will desperately grow branches and leaves, which are soft and easy to lodge, and the color of the leaves is relatively light and not easy to bloom. And poor growth is easy to decline resistance, the growth is relatively slow. So it is very important to learn how to bask in the sun.
