Hyacinth blossoms in early spring, prefers full light to slightly overcast, and prefers dry but not dry soil. They are dormant in summer and can only grow in cold areas for a long time, and the main purpose of planting hyacinth is to watch their bouquets of fragrant flowers.

At present, more than 2000 cultivated species have been selected and named, with flowers in blue, white, egg yolk, pink, red or purple. The bouquets of most cultivated species are denser than those of the original species, with 40 or more flowers per flower stem. Hyacinth contains alkaloids, which can be poisoned if eaten in large quantities, of which the bulb is the most toxic part and should not be eaten anyway.

The culture method of hyacinth:

1. What kind of soil is hyacinth suitable for?

For hyacinth, the soil should choose sandy soil with good drainage and not dry, generally with rotten leaf soil, nutrient soil, sandy soil according to the proportion of 4:2:4. In this way, the soil has a high content of organic matter and good aggregate structure, and the PH value of the soil is 6-7. If you want to increase the nutrition of organic matter, you can mix in some bone powder.

2. How to water hyacinth?

For family breeding hyacinth, it is OK to maintain the principle of "dry and wet". In the north, generally, after planting and watering for the first time, there is no need to water within 15 days; in the south, there is no need to water for 30 days, because the temperature and humidity in the south is high. Sometimes the surface of the basin soil is dry because of air circulation, but in fact, there is still a high moisture content in the soil, and watering at this time will be counterproductive.

3. How to prolong the flowering period of hyacinth?

1) add vitamins to hyacinth, such as vitamin tablets. When hyacinth is about to blossom, crush the ingredients and bury them around the potted soil.

2) after the hyacinth blossoms, put the potted plant in a cool, low-light house, which can also prolong the flowering period.

3) to ensure the health of hyacinth, such as proper replenishment of water and fertilizer, do not accumulate water so as not to lead to rotting roots.

4) increase the humidity of the air around the potted plants.

5) it is important to maintain a good ventilation environment.

In a group of cases, the above points can make the hyacinth bloom for as long as 30 days.
