Gentleman orchid is a flower that many people like to raise, the leaves are green, they are very beautiful when they bloom, and they are liked by many people. When we raise orchids, we should pay special attention to watering. Here are some points for attention.

The magnolia is short of water

In the impression of many people, the gentleman orchid likes the dry basin soil, indeed the gentleman orchid is more resistant to drought, this is mainly because it has strong fleshy rhizomes, in the case of lack of water, the water in the root system is enough to maintain for a period of time, but if there is a lack of water for a long time, after the water in the root system is absorbed by the plant, the root system will wither and die, and finally the plant will be lethargic and the leaves droop.

Criteria for judging water shortage of magnolia

Gentleman orchid water shortage can be measured by three points, the first is to weigh the flowerpot by hand, if it is found that the flowerpot is lighter, it is time to water. The second is to know the state of the basin soil by hand, if the middle and upper part of the basin soil is already dry and loose, then it also needs watering at this time, and the third is to observe the plants. if you find that the plant is shaking from left to right, it is also a sign of lack of water at this time.

Watering items when the gentleman orchid is short of water

If we find that the magnolia is short of water, we must water it in time, then we must pay attention to watering it thoroughly. Do not water half of the water (that is, the basin soil is not completely watered). If the basin soil is half watered and half waterless, it is easy to have empty roots and rotten roots, which will eventually lead to the death of magnolia.

How can a gentleman's orchid be watered thoroughly?

When watering the magnolia, it is easy to appear the illusion of being thoroughly watered, that is, after watering, the water will flow out along the basin bottom. in fact, sometimes, because the root system is more luxuriant and the basin soil is more loose, the water is easy to flow out along the root system and the basin wall. in fact, no water is absorbed inside.

So when we are watering, we also have a little trick, that is, we use the method of soaking the basin to water, first prepare a water basin, then put water in the pot that is just below 1/3 of the bottom of the flowerpot, and then put the flowerpot in the pot for 3-5 minutes. In this way, the water will be absorbed by the soil in the basin along the bottom of the basin, and then the whole basin will be completely absorbed, so that it can be well watered through. It can also avoid stagnant water in the basin and lead to root rot.

Water is the source of all things, when the orchid is short of water, it will have a great impact on its plants, so we must pay attention to watering. Do you have anything to add about watering?
